I realize that getting TV time for the quarterfinal games is important, but having that second session start so late (especailly our 8:30 pm game) doesn't provide much turnaround time until the 4:30 pm semi-final contest.

Being a late game (relatively speaking), it basically becomes a home game for the gooners...expect that place will be a bit more crowded than usual.

Hope the coaches are reminding them that it will hardly be a neutral court game and to treat it like a road game..

A whole weekend of Big 12 WBB!

I was just explaining to another coach why I wouldnt be shocked to see Texas win this tournament.

1. We have the best bench in the conference when everyone brings their game.
2. We win off of our defense and inside play which help in games 2 & 3 when legs are tired and shots arent falling
3. We've beat everyone in the league except Baylor, and even that didnt seem impossible if we cn replicate the first half from Austin, or the game we played in Waco.

watched the preview show. kinda disappointing that they said OSU was the 3 seed and, during the game previews, they called the last game Saturday would be between #5 Texas and #6 OU. At least they got the teams right.

FYI, in Austin, the Friday games will be on FSC, TWC 432.

KU escapes KSU 87-84 in OT. Romero and Lewis for KSU foul out and KU's Gardner nails four FTs at the end to seal the win for KU. They will face BU tomorrow.

TCU takes advantage of a six+ minute scoring drought by Tech about 8 minutes into the half to win it 75-59. Frogs will play WVU next.

Morning quarterfinals are done.

OSU eases pass ISU 67-57.
Baylor trounces KU 81-47.

One semi final is set with OSU and Baylor playing tomorrow at 2 pm.

two more quarterfinal games left, including Texas vs OU at 8:30 pm.

jeepers, TCU vs WVU is supposed to be on TWC 433. Still showing S. Illinois vs Indiana State in the MVC tournament.

Winner of the Texas-OU game will play WVU, who beat TCU 67-59. Unfortunately for TCU, Lovings for TCU got injured with about 2 & 1/2 minutes and WVU up by one pt. WVU was able to capitalize on that.

Horns win!! 82-72. They will face WVU tomorrow in the semis. Clutch FT shooting in the final minute.

BU vs OSU ready to tipoff. Kinda torn here. I would like to see OSU win but really would like a chance to see the Horns get another shot at BU. Gotta get pass WVU first, though.

The game last night reminded me of some of the wins earlier in the season, when we were getting contributions from everyone. It seems like the team is finally playing with intensity for a full 40 minutes, which wasn't always the case this year. Even in last night's game, with OU shooting just 30%, a small drop off at any point, and the Sooners making a couple more baskets at key points, and the outcome might have been different. I think we know we have to play focused and tough, start-to-finish, to get the type of result we did yesterday. It was great to see both Imani and Nneka have strong games. It's interesting because I had commented to someone after the final ISU matchup that this didn't happen very often. It was usually one or the other that had a big night, but seldom both at the same time. Then the next two games they did just that, and we won both. In some instances it has to do with fouls, but they're learning you don't have to change your mentality when you get into foul trouble. Play smarter, yes, but don't play scared. You can still rebound and get your points. We are going to be hard to beat when both have the kind of outing they did last night. I also liked Coach A's comment in the presser when asked about getting contributions from so many different players. She said that had to happen because we didn't have any stars, and games had to be a team effort. And while we don't have any scoring machines of the caliber of Sims, we do have a roster full of great basketball players. Of the ten who are averaging more than 10 mins per contest, all have been key to us winning one or more games this year. All ten have reached double-digits in multiple games, which makes us very hard to prepare for. You never know who you're going to see, or what rotation, or who is going to step up in that particular contest. Just so long as someone does. In some games it seemed to impact the entire team when a certain player, or players were having an off night. But that's going to happen and you can't let it affect momentum, or confidence, because we have others who can step up. We have all the pieces and they are coming together more often than not recently. I just hope the quick turnaround doesn't have any effect on the WVU game, because I want another shot at the Bears! Assuming they win today of course.

jeez, we have been guilty of this too, but, you can't leave Robertson alone in the corner. That's a 3 you are usually giving up. OSU was face guarding then left her alone to help with Sims driving from the other corner. Makes no sense.

Bias with four fouls with 8 & 1/2 to go. Looked more like BU's Johnson threw out her elbow than a foul by Bias.

OSU down four and has the ball.

neither team shooting well from the field but WVU is taking advantage of Texas fouls, hitting 9-10 FTs.

Texas is fouling WVU when they shoot while we are getting called for charges when we penetrate. Need to play smarter on offense.

WVU pulled this one out 67-60. Horns simply put WVU on the FT line too many times (28-36) and didn’t get there enough themselves (14-18).

Nice to see them go 1-1 in the Big 12 tournament. Considering preseason expectations, they have exceeded pretty much everyone’s so far.

Now, they get a chance to play in the NCAAs, hopefully with a good seed. The season is not over and will continue March 22-25, depending where the Horns are send.

Plenty of time to reflect on this loss and continue to get better for the next round of games.

Way to go, ladies. See you in the NCAAs.
