Big 12 tournament action

First up--TT vs. CU in a game matching the league's two worst defenses and weakest rebounding teams. CU had made a lot of improvement from last year's 1-15 team that tended to make turnovers as fast or faster than it made field goals, finishing 6-10 and earning the 8th seed. 5 of the 6 wins were against NU, ISU, and TT, so maybe they haven't come that far.

Eight and a half minutes into the game, CU was up 18-8. Since then it has commited 16 turnovers while getting only 13 fg, and finds itself trailing by 13 with less than 5 minutes to go, so it has obviously channeled last year's performance. Tech, weak rebounders they are, are killing CU on the glass.

Next up--NU vs. MU. NU lost by 15 and 17 this year.

NU goes 6 minutes without scoring, and Missouri closes from 18 to a ten point deficit. Then Richardson hits a three with Missouri fouling him in the act. 3;36 to go, NU by 13 with the free throw coming.

NU had gone into a complete shell over the last few minutes. MU could still come back with pressure and turnovers, but they have been utterly putrid on offense.

Edit: I didn't see the first half. Is Standhardinger hurt?

MIssouri makes a little run, cuts it back to ten, then gets a steal after poking NU guard in the eye. He falls down, MU player takes the ball, passes up for a break, foul, free throws, then MU can't get any closer. NU wins by 15, outrebounds MU by 11, shoots 56% from the field, 57% on 3's.

Next up, OSU against OU.

A stunner to say the very least. I doubt we can replicate that magic against aTm tomorrow but I guess we'll see.

Way to go Huskers. You may have just torpedoed the Big 12 chances of getting 7 teams in.

The office Aggie wished earlier today for a Nebraska upset. I told him, "don't hold your breath". Shows what little I know.

OSU was upu 45-21 with the ball at the end of the half, threw up a crappy shot, let OU score, then went the first 7 minutes without scoring in the second half. Now 45-34. OSU just jacking up 3's. Muonelo for free throws to break the drought.

OU has now quit. OSU back up by 22. Just forced a turnover. The OSU player starts even with Mason-Griffin and Pledger and is three steps ahead of them when he makes the layup.

Fred Gulley is now 1-20 for the year in 3 pt fg. 1-1 for the game.
