The Big 12 has three teams that are a level higher than Texas (KU, OU, Mizzu). We have no shot at catching any of them. Here I will list the relevant teams that are in a mix with Texas and their remaining schedules. I'll make a call to set a theoretical order for the conference standings. But I think this data should be included for a more meaningful analysis of Texas' NCAA hopes.
Kansas State (7-5): at Mizzu, Nebraska, at Ok State, Colorado
finish (9-7)
Ok State (6-6): at Colorado, Texas, Kansas State, at OU
finish (9-7)
Nebraska (6-6): A&M, at Kansas State, Iowa State, at Baylor
finish (8-8)
Aggy (5-7): at Nebraska, Iowa State, at Colorado, Mizzu
finish (9-7)

I think Texas winds up in a heap of teams at 9-7, tied for fourth. No doubt Texas gets the nod in that cluster. By-the-way, Nebraska lost to friggin Maryland-Baltimore County, and that team beat us? WTF@$%& Again, apologies to Husker in Kingwood but ouch for us, no wonder our RPI has sunken. I was way too hard on Baylor and too nice on Aggy.
 
I don't know about A&M winning in Lincoln and home against Missouri. Missouri is very good.

Huskers up 9 with 4 minutes to go in the first half. They've had big leads against other teams and not managed to finish strong (Missouri, KU, OU), but we'll see how it goes tonight.
 
I wss torn on Aggy at Lincoln. But in the recent dark days of Longhorn hoops, Aggy pole axed us in CS while the Cornhuskers snuck by us in Lincoln. Mizzu will have nothing to play for by the end of the regular season. I think you'll see them lay down in CS. In any case, Aggy has sealed up 8 wins now........ I think they get 9.
 
Said it on the other thread but our season is over. Only seven points in the last 14:32. Rockets win or not, I'm still sick to my stomach over the events at Devaney last evening. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't win another game the rest of the year. We'll lose at K-suck, and we'll lose at BU. Maybe we pull out one more against ISU but that's it.
 
HuskerNKingwood, my condolences, I know last night was brutal for you. I had you guys losing to Aggy and Kansas State and getting wins over ISU and a similarly, more recently crushed Baylor. Your coach will run circles around Drew I'd guess. Your NCAA hopes were pretty weak even before last night. That loss to Maryland Baltimore Shore would have proven an anchor to your hopes with the NCAA selection committee anyway. That being said, I think Nebraska should get a home game in the NIT anyway. Sounds like for you it was NCAA or bust, but with your non-conference resume, I really think you would have needed at barest minimum 10 wins in the Big 12. You weren't getting that even if the Aggy shot doesn't fell you guys. The loss was a tough pill to swallow, but it meant nothing much in the end imho.
 
Just wanted to blow my horn as a prognosticator. Indyhorn pegged two weeks of Big 12 basketball! Congrats to Aggy for making me look good.
