aCraig Way mentioned that we went 23-1 many years ago in SWC so I would say we've done it before

Even under the old 30 game schedule 23 wins was the Big XII record so either way Texas has tied for most wins ever in regular season and holds record for most wins under a 27 game schedule. Today could break the 30 game schedule record if the Horns win.

As recent as 1988, Texas went 18-2-1 in SWC regular season, finishing #1 in conference, losing once to Rice and Arkansas, and tying UH.

I only found this historical link a few weeks ago that has ALL games the Horns have ever played.

They played a lot of weird ones early, e.g., Manchaca, Dime Box, Bastrop, Beach Club in Galveston, 7-Up Bottlers, and Chicasaw Indians, along with fairly regular play of major league teams.

P.S., checking a few more years, after these I just gave up:

1987, 18-3, single losses only to aggy, Baylor, piggy
1982, 12-4 (?), single losses only to aggy, piggy, Baylor, Rice
1979, 22-2, single losses only to piggy, aggy.

So, yes, Texas actually not rarely won every series in SWC play, at least that's 4 times in about 10 years.
