How it all went down...

#7 BU (2-1) over KU - Baylor took their series vs. KU by beating them today 21-9 with 8 Home Runs @ Lawrence

Tech (2-1) over #14 aggy - TTech took today's game vs. A&M 10-6 @ Lubbock

#9 Texas (2-1) over #17 OSU in Stillwater

KSU (3-0) over Nebraska - I think this was in Manhattan

OU (2-1) over Mizzou - Mizzou avoids sweep at the hands of the land thieves.

Other notable results from around the country

#13 UCI almost sweeps #1 CSF but loses today's game 5-4 to the Titans. UCI had a 4-1 lead but lost the game due to errors and other mistakes

Arkansas takes the series (2-1) vs. South Carolina

#2 Rice loses today to Tulane but won the series (2-1)

#4 LSU takes the series from #3 Georgia (2-1) complete with fans throwing punches in the stands SEC.... SEC... SEC blah blah blah. There is one Regional Projection (which is pretty worthless this early) saying we are the #2 in Baton Rouge. That doesn't sound fun at all.

TCU - our next opponent sweeps #20 New Mexico while tearing the Lobos up 19-3 today. TCU has a #2 RPI, a win vs. them on Tuesday is freaking huge.

We obviously have our work cut out for us vs. TCU, but Nebraska looks like a winnable series, given that we just took the series @OSU and NU was swept by usual cellar dweller KSU. Kansas State has definitely turned some kind of corner in their baseball program while Nebraska is fading into Bolivia.

Goose - Thanks for your research and post. Historically, the B12 reg season champ had 7 or 8 losses. Looks like there will be more this year. Hope no one gets hurt jumping back-on the Longhorns' bandwagon.

First off, the K-Stank sweep was in LINCOLN. Yes, at Hawks Field. That's what makes that sweep so damn disheartening. Usually K-Stank struggles to make it out with one win. But they swept us and it wasn't close.

Already there is mass chaos on our boards this weekend in the wake of the sweep. There's a lot of "Fire Mike Anderson" sentiment out there right now. I feel bad for the guy, to be quite honest. Guy is having to deal with an entirely new team, and they're just going through an awful time trying to win games right now. I believe Anderson is a good coach but when a slump hits in baseball it hits like the damn plague, which has happened since the Okla. State series.

Funny thing is, we're about halfway through the season and I don't really know what kind of team we have yet. Is it the team that took two from OSU or is it the team since that game?

Only time will tell.

Only 1.5 games behind OU for the top spot. If we can keep pace against Nebraska next weekend we will have a chance to put ourselves back on top the weekend after that.

I feel your pain HuskerinKingwood, that must be pretty tough, considering that MA has done a lot for your program after the departure of Van Horn. One thing is though, is that if y'all needed a shot in the arm, it is getting swept by a Kansas team. It seems to have given us some life, and dare I say that KSU is waaay better than KU at this point? Who knows, I haven't seen either play.

Just don't think it does much for my confidence in getting the ever important sweep in conference, especially against NU, I think MA has this team's undivided attention and y'all can find a way to get a good win.

I am very suprised with Aggie at this point, Tech isn't that great. I guess home field advantage does sometimes work. Either that or Branding Iron 13-0 on Texags did his usual Nostradumbass thing. He posted his usual "Big 12 standings" post where he was showing aggy in first place and "UT was looking up to Daddy". You could set a clock to that idoit.

The thing to point out re: Nebraska is, getting swept at home by an average team is far more damaging than getting swept on the road by an average team.

And to be honest, only the Sunday game was close (15-1, 9-3,5-3). We lost the KU series by a combined 3 runs.

One thing is for sure, Big Red will be pissed when we come calling on Thursday.

Need to take two.
