Big 12 Refs Atrocious

its unfortunate that this crew is the best the big 12 has to offer. Seems to me if big 12 wants to be taken seriously it cannot have such poor performances by its refereeing crew in its championship game. The number of missed and plain wrong calls is ridiculous.

Texas: 13 penalties for 128 yards
OU: 5 penalties for 60

In addition to the discrepancy in calls, looking at the circumstances of some of the penalties and the missed calls, I don’t think it takes a lot of skepticism to question things.

That missed PI on 3rd and long midway in the 4th did us in. One of many missed calls. I agree with the above, I think the refs want a b12 team in the cfp. It was that bad today

As much as we like to say we are the Joneses and the big dog we no longer are. The dirt burglars own and run the conference at present in large part do to the past (and current) president of the university and our recent past ad. ou gets their way. Today did nothing to dispel that as the truth. Hopefully CDC will change that.

These two teams are very evenly matched. In a game of this magnitude, between the two marquee franchises of the conference, on national TV for the Big 12 championship, it is a travesty to not have officiating that can rise to the occasion. There is too much money at stake along with the livelihoods of the coaches to have winning and losing depend on one team deciding to commit a penalty such as pass interference when they are clearly beaten in terms of straight-up football ability and not have it called. The non-call on 3rd down was not a sign of Oklahoma's superiority as a team or Sam's alleged deficiencies as a quarterback. That play was a beaten Oklahoma defense getting away with it.

And as someone else said, I won't be yelling "Big 12 Big 12" for anyone. I'm a Texas fan and all the bigger picture stuff doesn't mean anything. I'm not proud of OU representing the conference. I hope they miss out on the playoffs.

Yes but no. If Ou goes to game of thrones we go to Sugar (I hope). Otherwise Alamo, I assume. BS today. Has been for a while. Between the years of bad refs and Kansas game (place literally six for football, it is time to move to Pac 12. they have a few good football schools and generally get the game. Today it was clear we god jobbed and stayed in it.

PAC 12 and we have to stay up until 2am to watch the games....

I really hope that CDC has the means of addressing the officiating problem in this conference. It’s just atrocious. Maybe OU wins regardless, but I’m not so sure. It’s just a shame, and a travesty that this continues to happen.

THIS^^^

Watching some of the plays with no calls where ou were mugging our receivers. Our guys were flagged when in perfect coverage. The refs were disgusting.

I would rather get up late than watch us get screwed at 11 am. the only other choice is Big 10 and it is cold and lots of Kansas schools that don't understand football. UGH
Why do you assume all West Coast games will have evening starts? But more to the point, we are likely to play only 1-2 West Coast games in a seasson

The Pac12 may have worse refs than the Big 12. Has anyone paid attention to what a cluster that conference has been this year? That is worse than the Big 12. Independent like Notre Dame or bust.

I hear you on the bigger picture. I'd like the Sugar Bowl but I just don't want to be Aggy about leveraging off the entire conference to make the Horns look good or something.

so many no-call blocking in the backs :/
Offensive holding and illegal blocks on offensive plays don't apply to blowu. Never have for as long as I can remember (back to '69). Those types of calls are reserved for Texas (other blowu opponents as needed as well).

The officiating today was a joke but Texas did itself no favors either. Let’s not get too aggy when it comes to moaning about the refs.

That play happened right in front of me. That dude had a hand full of jersey and controlled the db until the pass arrived and pushed away to get separation. Easy offensive interference call missed.
It was even worse after they called much less on CJ when the ou db went full euro soccer player and went to the turf.

There's a difference between being aggy and being right. There were plenty of Horn mistakes, but there were more bad or missed calls almost always going OU's way.
