1) beat ISU to earn opportunity to avenge losses against Baylor
2) beat Baylor to earn opportunity to avenge loss against KSU
3) beat KSU
4) they'll likely be pretty tired and lose this one
5) enter the Big Dance with a clue and some swagger
But I agree, Baylor is scary good, and they'll fight like hell for at least one B12 tournament win to protect NCAA seed.
UT's situation reminds me a lot of Baylor's at this time last year. Baylor dramatically underachieved, was free-falling at the end of the year, and closed the regular season with a whimpering home loss to Nebraska. UT is of course in a much better position overall because UT is going to the NCAA tournament.
But at this time last year, a light went on for Baylor. They beat Neb., KU, and UT in a run to the Big 12 tournament final, went to the NIT and beat Georgetown at home, and had a string of road NIT wins to get to the NIT final. That was very surprising.
Texas' predicament is puzzling. But it would be no weirder for a light to come on for UT than it was for Baylor last year and no weirder than UT's current sitiuation already is.
Did you see the look on James's face against ISU? He's not going to let this team lose to Baylor again. The front court is coming together, with James-Johnson-Pittman, with Hill and Wangmene spelling Pittman. The back court will be changed from 5 days ago. Mason and Bradley will slow down their back court enough to eke out a win. It will be a dog fight tonight. I can't wait.
