The Big 12’s Coach of the Year and Player of the Year are out of the NCAAs as OSU’s Jim Littell and star player Brittney Martin were bounced by St. Bonaventure 65-54 for the conference’s first loss in the NCAAs.

Big 12 ends the first day at 3-1.

Weird, huh? I thought Martin deserved POY, but I was skeptical about Littell. Ending the conference season higher than predicted doesn't necessarily mean COY. I don't know who I would've picked though. I wish the accolades didn't come until the end of the NCAA tournament. Look what Mittie has done with KSU so far.
 
okay, just enough time to watch OU play at 12:30 pm before heading out to the FEC this afternoon. It's almost game time!! :yippee:
 
OU now starting to get some distance between themselves and Purdue, up 15-6 with 1 and a half minutes in the first quarter.
 
Peyton Little has 10 points and two fouls. Sitting with just under six minutes to go in the half. OU up 24-12.
 
Peyton comes out in the second on fire, hitting two 3s to lift OU to a 43-21 lead with just under four gone in the third. She has 16 pts and Manning 9 to lead the Sooners. The two are outscoring Purdue, 25-21.

WVU and Ohio State tied up at 39 at the half. Kelsey Mitchell for OSU has 20 pts. Bria Holmes for WVU has countered for 13. Holmes has a bit more scoring support but Mitchell is a one man gang. She is hard to stop.

Ohio State seems to be getting all the calls in the second half.
 
WVU drops a 88-81 game to Ohio State. Too much Kelsey Mitchell (45 pts, including 18-22 from the FT line). WVU shot 47.7% to OSU's 37.1%, hit 9 3s to OSU's 10 and was 76.9% from the FT to OSUs' 78.8. The biggest difference: 27 TOs for WVU, 9 TOs for OSU. 22 WVU fouls to OSU's 11. That led to OSU getting 33 FTAs and making 26 while WVU was on the FT line 13 times, making 10.

Second Big 12 team goes down in the NCAAs.

so unless baylor,oklahoma,ksu and texas win there wont be anymore big 12 teams in the tourney to me it looks like the big 12 is doing good we will see how the rest does later today and tomorrow. #hookem
 
Really disappointed with ESPN's coverage of the tourney so far; have they always just used ESPN2 as their sole television station to air the women's games? Yes I know ESPN3.com is an option.

Cant believe they don't use ESPNU. as well. I guess SEC softball is more pertinent right now. Only one men's game right now, and ESPN2 is airing soccer. Would have been a great timeslot for a women's game.

If you get ESPN Collect Sports Extra, you can watch individual games. I watched the West Virginia games this morning. I have Grande, where the games today are on 911 and 912.
 
in Austin, they have been using the College Extra channels but you need to have the sports package to get them.

But it is pretty lousy coverage on the main ESPN channels.

Agree. Also, since the SEC network and LHN, is also owned by ESPN I don't understand the problem with showing more games.
 
forgot KSU is also playing S. Carolina. A more competitive game than BU vs Auburn, at least for now.
 
18-13 S. Carolina over KSU at the end of one.
19-5 BU over Auburn with 2 minutes to go in the first quarter.
