..and OU loses to De Paul in OT. DP will probably leap into the top 25 now.

DePaul was number 25 until they lost at home to Northern Colorado (coached by Kamie Etheridge) last Friday night. Final Score 94-88. Even so, this may not have been that bad a loss for OU on the road this early in the year. OU has to rely on contributions from freshmen this year. The freshmen look promising. Some things don't appear to change though. Year after year OU much prefers offense to defense. At one point late in the game, the play by play showed nothing but the teams trading three point shot attempts, a lot of them makes.

Out of 83 shots, DePaul took 45 treys and hit 19, including the game winner in OT.
OU was 7-18 from BTA.

In the other Monday game,
KSU 81 Omaha 60

Tuesday's results:
West Virginia 101 Sacramento State 47
Baylor 86 Central Arkansas 55
TCU 64 SMU 58
Oklahoma State 91 Wichita State 67
Northern Iowa 57 Iowa State 53

Ou fans weren't happy with the lack of D in OU's loss to DePaul. I think ISU fans are probably not going to be happy with ISU's lack of offense.

ISU has no true point guard. Plus Durr got injured in the South Dakota game. I'm very close to some of the people up there and have always enjoyed watching them in previous years. In fact I generally go up there at least once a year to watch a game. Bill stopped recruiting for a few years there and it sure has showed. This years freshmen class is a little better than before and next years class has a couple of good players. But it's going to be a fairly long season for them I'm afraid. I posted this on the Cyclone fanatic board last year and gave my reasons for why I thought they would have a letdown this year and everyone I know up there said "I'm afraid your right". But a few sunshiners informed me the freshman class was so good they would make up for the loss of Jadda Buckley and Seanna Johnson. I bit my lip and said, "OK we'll see". Very few freshman come in and just immediately play like Juniors.

OU and De Paul is interesting. DP had home court advantage and that's probably what it took to pull it off. I watched it on College Sports Live. I think OU was just a tad over rated (perhaps/maybe).

Yeah, I didn't get a lot of the pre-season Top 25 rankings for OU; and, even a #4 seed in the very early Crème bracket. Just don't see it.
