Big 12 - ESPN preview

ESPN has done its summer preview of the big 12.

Fran has it UT, KU, OU while writer Griffin has OU as the favorite. Griffing also expects Abrams to blossom as he's no longer obscured by Augustin and Durant.

Abrams needs to blossom into passing the ball to his teammates, in particular in to the post.

Barnes needs to blossom in sitting Abrams on the bench if he consistently passes up opportunities to do so.

The big men need to blossom in finishing --- but they're not going to be able to unless they get opportunities from their teammates, and unless Barnes shows more patience early in the year regarding their development than he did last season.

Maybe - maybe - one of the pluses of Abrams' misguided quest to be a professional is that his Dad will sign off on him actually passing the ball to a teammate on occasion. Maybe even one in a position to score. If you want to be a PG and all, it's kind of one of the basic skillsets.

So the consensus is that our chances ride on Abrams learning to be a true PG? I figured he'd still be at the 2 with Balbay and Mason sharing time at PG. Anyone know about Balbay's passing skills? Is he a pass first PG?
