Watching A&M and KSU on Fox Sports right now. Ags getting some shady calls against them right now. Micheaux (sp) has two VERY questionable fouls in the first five minutes. We certainly understand about quick questionable fouls, don't we
aggies lead 22-7. Lehning still seems affected by the mono...definitely not herself still, but good to see her back in the starting line-up.
the aggies are 4 of 5 from 3-point range. and they keep getting away with some serious traveling violations. it's funny how some refs are quick to blow the whistle on anything that looks close to a travel, and others prefer not to call them much at all.
at this point, ISU has the edge for the fourth spot at 9-5 with an away game at Missouri and a home game with Kansas. Both should be tough games but very winnable.
Looks like the Horns will be fighting to win the fifth seed. We need to win at KSU to get that seed, assuming a loss OU. That would leave the Horns with a 9-7 record and tied with KSU. Texas should get the five seed based on head to head. That would leave the Horns likely facing Colorado in the first game and ISU in the second. Finish sixth and the opponents likely are either Missouri or Nebraska in the first game with A&M waiting for the winner. Of course, finsh fifth and likely,, the Horns will be facing OU in the third game.
I'd rather have OU in the third game than aggy in the second game of the tournament...and if we slide to #6, aggy is who we draw.
I'd like to have a realistic expectation of still having a game to watch in OKC on Saturday...and I just don't see that happening if we have to play aggy on Friday.
If ever there was a wide open season (with the exception of OU), this was it. I think the tournament will be the same way -- we could gain a lot of respect if we just take care of business. Yesterday the commentators of the TN v Vandy game remarked that the most frustrating part of the TN season for Coach Summitt was that the
team didn't mind losing. They didn't have the fierce competitive nature that her prior teams have had. I am paraphrasing a bit as I don't recall the exact wording - Interesting problem for coaches to deal with - what to do when players have the skills but lack the drive?
