According to Wiki, the album that featured "Better in Texas" was recorded for Warner Brothers but was never released.

As noted, there are several versions of the song available on the net, including on Rick's own website.

Also, Wiki notes that he was born in Houston, resides in Austin, was offered a baseball scholarship to Memphis State, but chose to be an aggy.
