Comcast and DirectTV have the worst reputations regarding compression. Here you can see the bitrate for DirectTV in DFW. The Link That's unacceptable and shouldn't even be considered HD. At anything lower than 18mb/s, fast action scenes begin to artifact. At anything lower than 15mb/s, it shouldn't even be considered HD.
