Best team for Colt

On the Dan Patrick show Colt was asked would you rather be an early pick or be a later pick and end up on a better team. Which team would be the best fit for Colt?

My pick: Arizona. Pass based offense that requires a very accurate QB.

I think they'll give Leinart one year to prove himself (which I don't think he will). Colt gets a year holding the clipboard and becomes the starter in 2011.

my pick is the Colts. Peyton will have probably 3 more years. Colt picks up where Peyton leaves off. Colt doesn't need to start as a 1st year player and get hammered. By the end of his 2nd year he will compeletely understand the Colts system, get mop up time his 3rd year and then he starts his fourth year. Eight years or so starting should be enough to win a couple of championships.

Do you know what Colt answered?

I don't think the Colts will look nearly as good once Peyton is gone. You have to wonder first off, is it the system that makes them good or is it having one of the best QBs ever that makes them good? They don't have a strong running game (granted this can all change in a few years), though learning from Peyton for a few years would be incredible.

Guys like Colt and Jordan could have it made since they may indeed get no teams with actual direction and hope. To be the star on a suck team is not usually a good thing if you are all they have or get. Usually those teams don't make wise picks the rest of the draft and their decisions are flawed which is a good reason they suck to begin with.

There are the teams with quirky bad seasons that just need that one or two missing ingredients to right their ship. Both Jordan and Colt could end up on teams in the playoffs next year compared to being thrown to the wolves and not having a snowballs chance in hell of seeing postseason play.

Sam Bradford (please don't let him go to Washington) could end up on a better team now injured. I hope he learns how to take a hit and fall so he does not get in and out of the league quickly. He needs a team that does not intend on having or needing a mobile QB. He would get crushed at the Redskins now. Campbell can scramble and that saved him many times. A new line helps Campbell and he deserves a chance.

I would prefer Colt to go to D.C. of the two simply because of his wheels and ability to escape compared to Sam. Sam at the Patriots or Colts could be a great thing for those teams.

nfldraftblitz.com has Colt going in the first round to the Vikings. Sounds a little high, but going to the Vikes would be a pretty awesome and feasible situation for him.

I too fervently wish for Colt to go somewhere he can watch and learn for minimum of one yr. Then I give him high chances of becoming a great NFL QB. Not so much if thrown to the wolves first yr. I am one of those that think Carr would have been a good QB in NFL had he not been an immature bull in a den of hungry lions for all those yrs. Poor guy ran for his life from snap one. I don't want that for Colt.

Vikings? hmm Favre's last year most likely, Colt sits for a year, then starts. That would be good. How about the Dolphins, how does their QB situation look?

Is Colt really a 1st rounder? That does sound a little high. Depending upon the combine, I'm thinking 2nd round, middle to end.

I'm still hoping for a planet-aligning day and that he gets picked up by the Cowboys...

I've actually said that I'll cheer for any team he plays for except Oakland and Philly...

If he does end up in Minnesota, how weird would it be to see him handing off to AD.....

I would love to see him handoff to AD. Can you imagine that offense? Wow, with Colt's pinpoint accuracy, AD's power, above average receivers, sounds like a great team.

Rams:
Suh #1
Colt #1 in round 2 (like Brees)

Team sucks but play in a dome and Colt would get alot of PT early and often.

Id love to see Colt go to the Colts and learn from Peyton. That would be awesome. Hed be able to sit for 4 years and really learn the system. Then again, the way Peyton is going... he may sit for 6 or more years. Hed be 30 by the time he actually got to start. Dunno how I feel about that.

He could go to the Cowboys and result in Stephen McGee losing his place on the team. i would like that. The revenge of Cart Mccry!!!

I vote with my DH - Carolina Panthers. Delhomme has just a few more years at best (time for Colt to learn the system, etc.) Their position in the draft would put them in a favorable position for that to possibly happen.

Cowher is likely their next head coach. That cannot be a bad thing if you are not in his dog house and Colt does not seem the type to end up there. His attitude and off field life likely won't ever hurt him.

Bradford to the Colts could end up being amazing for both involved.
