Best smokehouses?

I am a true smokehouse junkie and I cannot resist pulling off the highway when I see someplace I haven't tried before and I usually end up spending an obscene amount of money on thier meats and usually their jarred stuff like salsa, pickles, etc. I am a sucker for good smoked bacon, ham, and jerky. Sadly, my travels rarely venture off I-45, I-10, or 290. I would like to hear of some your favorite smokehouses, Texas or otherwise.

You've probably hit this one, but the Holmes smokerhouse in Pleak is pretty darn good. Great jerky.

For a trip back in time to a real old time meat market there is Kaspar's Meat Market in Weimar off I-10 near Schulenburg.City Market and The Smokehouse in Schulenburg.

Second the Woody's. How many places are so good that they have two locations on either side of the freeway?

In the case of Woody's it is off of I-45 and Hwy. 7

The smokehouse near El Campo is Prasek's Hillje Smokehouse.My mistake-I mispelled it before.They, too,have a web site.They are always busy.
