I only went for the 3rd day but the best shows I thought were Racontuers and Silversun Pickups. Who did yall think did well.

Louis XIV, N.E.R.D.

, Foo (Amazing closing act)

I didn't get to hear as much of Racontuers as I wanted since we left early to get close to Foo, but heard they were really good. I was very surprised as to how good this year was when the lineup wasn't as big as past years (imo). Another great weekend of great music.

I never listened to their music till now, but I really liked Okkervil River''s performance...so that was the most enjoyable one I heard on Sunday.

Band of Horses
Raconteurs
Hot Chip
Sharon Jones/Dap Kings
CSS
Swell Season
Beck

... in that order. I know most of y'all were probably at The Raconteurs -- as was I -- but made my way early to the Dell stage for BoH and Gnarls was ending their set with Radiohead's 'Reckoner'. That was dope.

I regret not listening to my fiancee to check out Galactic for a little bit, but won back her good graces with a stunning back-to-back Raconteurs/Band-of-Horses set. FTW.

The steak/pomme frites from Aquarelle were also another highlight -- damn ACL foodcourt rocks the block.

I loved how mellow and well-run it was this year [minus the MGMT shitshow with the crush of people after the Texas game].

My favorite was Raconteurs followed closely by Shooter Jennings, who got mad at his keyboard and slammed it into the stage. Then he grabbed an axe and rocked out, including a great cover of ARC Angels "Livin in a Dream"

I can also second that steak sandwich and crack fries from Aquarelle - yumm I need another one today.....

I saw Jose's soundcheck at Emo's for his aftershow, but not the actual show.

Foo kicked all kinds of ***.

Saw Jose. He was very good. Ended with Teardrop. Good part of the day for him to play, too. We watched him after Fleet Foxes. A perfect way to recover from Friday and get ready for the Saturday festivities.

My favorites were David Byrne, Beck, Manu Chao, Fleet Foxes, and Joe Bonnamassa. That dude put on a guitar clinic. Band of Horses was good, too.

Vampire Weekend, Fogarty, Raconteurs, Band of Horses, and best of all, Foo Fighters, who put on one hell of a show. Great closing act.

All in all, it was a great ACL Fest for me. And I'm still a fan of Salt Lick's sloppy nachos.

Manu Chao - I enjoy his recordings, but they bring it to a whole 'nother level live.
CSS - Their singer doesn't have the greatest voice, but she's entertaining as hell.
Swell Season - I loved Once, and the guy has the same charisma live.
Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band - I hate Bright Eyes, but his voice has calmed down, and I found myself really enjoying this show.
Jenny Lews - Just as good outside of Rilo Kiley.
Beck - Sounded good and played most of the songs I was hoping for. Didn't look too enthusiastic, and stopped 15 mintues early with no encore.
Raconteurs - Haven't seen them since they first started. They mixed up their songs a little more, which was nice. They've got a good rock feel to their show that you don't see much anymore.
Foo Fighters - I'm not a big fan, and this show didn't change my mind, but they did entertain, and played 15 minutes past their stop time.

Gogol Bordello- Never heard their music before, but damn they put on an amazing show. complete with accordian and fiddle player, a couple of dancers. It's described as "gypsy-punk"N.E.R.D- Lots of energy.....and lots of white people invited up on stage.Del the Funky Homo Sapien- Again a ton of energy.....there is something that gets me when hip hop is paired with live instruments.CSS- again, unfamiliar with their tunes, but that chick can rock out.

MGMT
- Awesome

The Black Keys
- Sound was a bit low for my taste, but they rock for a 2 piece.

Drive By Truckers
- Loud and rocking as usual....missed the late show on Friday

The Mars Volta
......Holy **** . Those dudes bring it!

Manu Chao
- pretty solid....he likes the tweeds.

John Fogerty
- He brought out all the CCR classics....and the crowd knew how to sing along....well most of them just knew the chorus, but whatever. fun to see the olds up and rocking.

Robert Plant & Allison Krauss
- was pumped to see them, but it was meh. Maybe I was tired from being out there all day or something, but they started off with a couple slow songs and it just didn't do it for me at the end of the festival....would've rather gone to see Beck, but we had to leave.

The highlight of the weekend for me was the Band of Horses
late night show at the Parish. Been wanting to see these guys for the last 2 years. The show was amazing....maybe 200 people there. They didn't disappoint. They even covered 13 Days, by JJ Cale.

Oh and Bill Murray was about 5 feet from me at the Parish....

David ******* Byrne.
Even though I dont I know any of the new stuff with Brian Eno, it all sounded brilliant. But out of nowhere the classics from Remain In Light came out and brought the house down.
- Houses in Motion
- Crosseyed and Painless
- The Great Curve
- Once In A Lifetime
- Life During Wartime (not RIL of course)

The dancers were flipping sweet and he was in a great mood. You can tell he loves Austin and really enjoyed the crowd.... a memory i will never forget.

Highlights for me at the fest were the Lee Boys, Okkervil River, Manu Chao, Drive By Truckers, N.E.R.D. and M. Ward among lots of others...

highlight of the entire weekend, thirded?- BoH at the Parish...such an awesome show and i did not see Bill Murray, but i didn't walk around much!

Friday: NERD/ Mates of State
Saturday: Fleet Foxes
Sunday: Tegan and Sarah... don't laugh

disappointments:
MGMT was insane crowd
SilversunPickups had bad sound. I was about 50 yards away, about 45 degrees from center, and all I heard was muddy sound, until the singer screamed. Drums were barely audible. It was probably a awesome show if I was in the middle. I didn't think I was in a bad spot, so either a set of speakers were working, or the the setup was bad. Same with Blues Traveler.
Iron and Wine: He kind of turned into a Jam-band. He is known for his acousticness, and then he never puts down the electric.

Well, I was disappointed because I thought they were fairly small-time, and they got put on one of the 2nd tier stages, then I show up and you'd think the pope was playing bagpies with Jesus, based on the size of the crowd. It was a pain in the *** just to walk from the entrance on that side of the park past the crowd, to another stage (since the AMD stage was off at the time). So i have no idea how much they did or did not suck, because I couldn't get close enough to hear, then I went on to other things.
