Best seats for teen fans

Hello
I'm taking a few high school seniors to next Saturday's football game (11/20/10) and want tickets in a more rowdy section near students so they will have a really fun UT game day experience. I haven't been to a game in a while, but I think the north end zone is more of a student hub. Is this true? If so, based on what I can afford, I can choose between Sections 11, 13, 14, 15. I can pay a little more and maybe sit on the NE side of the horseshoe if that's worth the $. There are also seats on the top tier of the horseshoe, but that seems so detached. Appreciate any advice. Any spots to completely avoid - visitors sections, etc.? Thanks.

Students sit in NE corner of lower bowl, east side of lower bowl and a few in upper east side.

But, just show up on Saturday and you can get any seat you want for no more than $10. Then, there will be so many empty seats, especially in the student section, that you can sit whereever you wish.

They're $10 at the gate? Right now, UT box office is selling them for $70/each (which is over my budget for 4 tickets)...but some of the broker sites have those sections I mentioned earlier for anywhere from $25 on up. I'm looking at about $30/ea...but if I can get them for $10! Will you elaborate a little on that, please? Thank you. I'm sure it's no big deal, but I'm driving quite a way and want to make sure we can get in.

Trust us on this, Little One.
Show up to the stadium, you'll get cheap tickets from people trying to unload them.
Or check out Swap Meet over to the left of this page.

okay thanks...let me make sure I get this straight. I need 4 together. On game day, scalpers will be selling cheap tickets at the gate. You think there will be plenty of empty seats in the student section (when you say NE bowl, do you mean sections 18-25?) so I don't necessarily have to find a scalper w/4 together. Just get any 4 cheap tickets and find any 4 empty seats? Thanks. Just making sure.

I sit in section 19 and I can attest that you will have NO problem finding empty seats in the student section right next to there...

Get cheap tickets on Swap Meet to get you in the stadium (don't worry about the section/row/seat #), then just go to section 19/25/26, etc.

One other thing is when you are going to another section, don't have your ticket stub out like you are trying to find your seat. Act like you belong there and most likely no one will ask questions. Clear the ushers and then look for a block of open seats. After half time, you will probably be able to move pretty much where you want.

As far as people selling tickets, there are usually quite a few people selling tickets around Scholz's, which is at 17th and San Jacinto. Just throw some fingers up in the air (# of tickets) and they will swarm you.

Good info, thanks. I went with your advice and bought cheap tickets -- then we moved after everyone settled in. Thanks again.
