Best Sandwiches ?

I always make plain sandwiches - lunch meat and bread. On occasion when I have left over brisket, I'll make sliced beef sandwiches which are tasty. Otherwise, the best sandwiches I have are from restaurants. How do you make your favorite sandwich? Toasted or untoasted bun? Type of bread?

Fried Bologna Sandwich. Use some Mr. Mustard on any kind of bread.

Toasted Peanut butter sandwich on wheat

I won't go into all the sandwhiches I like to make because there are many, but let me tell you about a condiment that I make that I believe to be amazing.

Take equal parts yellow mustard and miracle whip light, and mix in some freshly put together Good Seasons Italian dressing. Use generously. The stuff is out of this world.. (at least to me.)

The Texicali is a pretty darn good sandwich.

I also like Delaware Subs' Philly.

Some point down the road, I'll post some pics of my signature sandwich I invented.

Pan Bagnat
1 1-pound loaf unsliced French bread, about 14 inches long
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1/3 cup basil leaves, plus sprigs for garnish
2 6-ounce cans tuna packed in olive oil, undrained
2 plum tomatoes, diced
Hard boiled egg slices.
2/3 cup coarsely chopped pitted assorted brine-cured olives
Some bell pepper.

1/2 cup chopped sweet onion (such as Vidalia or Maui)
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Anybody ever get the Texas sized BBQ sandwich at the roadside stand (Ken's?) just outside of La Grange? Very good. It was a few years back.

torta cubana is my absolute favorite.

breaded fajita steak, real thin. top with ham, melted white cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and sliced avocado. a dab of sour cream makes it better.

* this is likely not authentic TC, but that's how the mexican place (which pwns, by the way) by my house makes it.

Oh...and my favorite restaurant here in Weatherford will basically throw anything together if it's on the menu...

I've been experimenting for the last few months...

My latest creation is as follows:

Chicken-fried catfish sandwich, buffalo style (like hot wings) on Texas toast with swiss cheese, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, lettuce, tomato and bleu cheese...

It's now my favorite sandwich...

I don't think it's very healthy, though...

A BLEAT is pretty good for breakfast.

Bacon
Lettuce
Egg (fried)
Avocado
Tomato

Of course I add cheese to mine too as well as mayo.
Toasted white bread works but sourdough is best.
