Best place to get a new truck loan.

In the market for a new truck while the rebates and incentives are very high. Where is the best place to go for financing to make sure I get a good/reasonable interest rate?

If it were me I'd start with my credit union.

I have my checking/savings with US Bank--I got 4.65% for 5 yrs on a new car loan.

Go to your credit union and get them to quote a rate.

Then when you go to the dealership to buy the car, see what rate they offer. Take the best.

If you have good credit, odds are very high that the dealership will beat the credit union. You may get an incentive rate from the manufacturer. Something like 0-3%. A lot of manufacturers are offering incentive rates that no bank can come close to matching.

If you have poor credit, odds are very high that the dealership will charge a near-criminal rate and you are better off going through your credit union, which will, in the absolute worst case will charge on the high end of a fair rate.
