Best Late Night Monologue

i dont catch too many of them but every now and then i'll be home for the late night talk shows. I used to be partial to leno not because he was great but more for the headlines and some of his jokes. letterman has good parts but for some reason or another never really dug his style. conan is good and i can see him taking over for leno. haven't caught kimmel and carson daly just looks kinda wierd as a really skinny dude. but everytime i catch ferguson, he just cracks me up. laugh out loud funny. he just seems more real, no frills, no band, just a stand up routine with guests sprinkled in. i can see how some might not like him but i just think he's a damn good host, better than all the rest (although some of his extra bits can definitely be hit or miss). not sure if any of the others still do regular stand up but ferguson just seems to be on more than the most. which do y'all think is better?
 
I had that happen two nights ago. I woke up in the middle of the night and had to go to the restroom. I had a mono log.
 
My problem with Conan's monologues is this-

Conan walks out and acts like an idiot. [fine]

Joke #1... [maybe funny, maybe not, but 2 more to go]

Joke #2... [ibid, but now only 1 to go]

Joke #3... [ok, that's it. 3 and done.]


I prefer more than 3 jokes in a monologue. This is America afterall!

more people like leno because he's an idiot and a hack. the average american idiot can easily identify with a like-minded idiot. leno sucks.

i am interested to see if conan stays in NY or goes out to LA when he's up for the Tonight Show. I don't know how comfortable he would be out there or how his routine would go over. I hope he stays in NY.
 
ferguson is great. i like his self-deprecating style and how he insinuates he's gay. it's like he beats everyone to the punch. but i like conan better than ferguson b/c craig's schtick gets old after a few months.


conan > craig > letterman > leno.
 
Conan's monologue isn't the greatest, so I love that he keeps it short and simple and moves to the desk as quickly as possible.

Because once he is at the desk, Conan's comedy bits are the best there are. Even during the strike with no writers and few options, he has done some great stuff.

Now the strike needs to get officially over so Conan can get some decent guests again.
