I hear that Mi Piaci in Addison is great. Never been, though.

I like Ferre in West Village.

For something a little different, Arcadoro/Pomodoro in Uptown is solid. It's Sardinian. Similar to Italian, but different.

For cheap but tasty Italian, I like Angelo's in Lakewood.

Cafe Italia and Pomodoro Arcadoro are both excellent suggestions. But I have to say that I would not generally regard Dallas as a town to visit for great Italian food.

Seriously, I usually go to Prego on Greenville. My moms best friends family owns it. I perfected my cannoli's with the help of Aunt Rose - one of the owners. Ask for the ricotta cream sauce.... it's not on the menu. Best Italian sausage too.

Another vote for Trattoria Alfredos on Lemmon.
My office use to be down there street and we would go there a lot for lunch. The lunch menu is the same as the dinner menu except it is about $10 cheaper per menu item.

Cafe Ciprianni's in Irving/ Las Coinas right off of Las Colinas Blvd and O'Connor has my vote. But then again, I don't get out to many Italian joints other than this place and Penne Pomodoro off of Forest and Preston.

I went to Nove at Victory Park for appetizers and drinks before the Stars game the other night. The atmosphere and prices are Vegas like (the women are in corsettes). The appetizers we had were very good -- really enjoyed the crudo plate of fish. I would not call this homestyle italian, but if you want some high end stuff, it would be worth a shot.

Alessio's on Bryan near Fitzhugh and Jimmy's Italian Grocery. Same chef that owned Alessio's on Lomo Alto for about twenty years.

Some good ones have been mentioned, but I would add Taverna on Armstrong close to Knox St. Pub. Small place, not cheap but not overpriced, good date place. The seafood risotto there is the ******* ****.

Adelmo's on Cole just south of Knox is awesome. It is a tiny place, but the food and atmosphere are both very good. If you go, I highly recommend getting a reservation.

So, I've been going to Taverna lately. It's a Lombardi restaurant. There's one in Austin & FW too. It's pretty damn good.

danielle osteria on oak lawn is fantastic. owner/chef is from sicily. nice/quiet atmosphere as well.
