Best idea for a flight now?

I've looked around on a few sites, from all major airports in Texas to all airports in LA and surrounding areas. I have a flight, but need one for someone else that just found out they can go.

Thoughts?

ONT (Ontario)
SNA (Orange County)
LAX
BUR (burbank)
LGB (Long Beach)
PSP (Palm Springs)
SAN (San Diego)

If you're in Austin, there are $137 Southwest flights into Phoenix (via the SWA web site) on the last flight on 1/6, or the first flight on 1/7. Book it before seats on that flight get more expensive.

It's a 5 hour and 45 minute drive from the Phoenix airport to the Rose Bowl, but you'll need a rental car in the LA area anyway.

The flight on 1/7 is at 8 a.m. and is scheduled to arrive in Phoenix at 9:40 a.m. Because you gain an hour on the trip to LA, you would be at the Rose Bowl by around 3:00 p.m.

There's a $137 flight from Phoenix to Austin on 1/9, leaving at 9:55 a.m. You could drive back to Phoenix on 1/8 and then catch that flight on Saturday morning.

If someone is desperate for a cheap flight and doesn't mind driving, that's a cheap way to go.

There are still $90 o/w DFW-SNA flights on United, and $120 flights on US Airways. Either would get you there before noon on the 7th.

From Austin, There is also a $162 o/w AUS-LAX flight that stops at IAH and San Diego, arrives at 11:18 am on the 7th.
Or Frontier, $182, AUS-SNA thru Denver, arrives 9:51 am on the 7th.

From San Antonio, there are multiple US Airways options on the morning of the 7th to SNA, thru Phoenix, $121 o/w.
Or Delta, also $121 to SNA, thru Salt Lake.

If you are in the Killeen area, you can go Killeen-DFW-SNA on the morning of the 7th for $217 o/w.

Not sure I would want a flight with a stop in Denver on the day of the game. Last time I had a stop in Denver for Cali bowl game I ended up sleeping in the Denver Airport for 3 days bc of a blizzard.

Just posted this on the "Ticket prices dropping" thread, but my wife and I are staying at Excalibur in Las Vegas from 1/4 to 1/8, have round trip flights from Dallas to Vegas and an SUV from Avis (unlimited mileage) for the week for $853. Can't wait! Vegas is only 4 hours away and an easy drive (all highway).
