Best golf course

I bought a "players pass" which has a bunch of 2 for 1 coupons to local golf courses but I don't know which courses are good...can ya'll help me out and tell me what you know about any of these. Thanks.

Mill Creek, clubs of lakeway, Golf club @ crystal falls, circle c, lago vista, blackhawk, quail creek, plum creek, delaware springs, llano gc, colovista, pine forest, legacy hills, white wing.

Circle C seems to be hit-or-miss. The first hole is like a mile from the clubhouse, and sometimes the course is not in good shape. They've got new owners now, so I don't know how the course is.

Crystal falls has nice views, but it seems every fairway is at a 45-degree angle. Unless you can shape your shots into the slope, be prepared to watch a lot of very nice drives end up in the rough.

ColoVista is a very nice course, but holes 1-8 are only so-so. 15 is worth the drive to Bastrop alone.

I played Plum creek a few times when it was $10 with my Texas Golf pass. I thought it was pretty enjoyable.

Quail Creek is a dump.

have fun. and let me know if you need a "2" to get that "for 1"

delaware springs is the best value in central texas. worth the drive ti burnet. Bring your undulating putter.

If you hit the ball left to right, Crystal Falls is tough. It seems like every fairway slopes left to right. They have some breathtaking par 3's though.

Mill Creek is beautiful, but a bit of a drive.

Assuming you don't get in to the Hills or Flintrock, I think the Lakeway clubs are average for nice courses.

Circle C has gone down hill a bit.

Lago Vista, I'm not too thrilled with. Nice scenery, but courses don't do a lot for me.

I like Blackhawk. Plum Creek is nice.

I like Colovista. The front is wide open and fairly boring, but the tree lined back 9, I like a lot.

I think Pine Forest in Bastrop is a real gem.

I haven't played the two Sun City courses, but have heard they're okay.

I grew up playing Quail Creek. I would put it at the bottom of the list, by far.

Yes, Pine Forest is a nice course. And you get to drive through the Tahitian Village to get there.

unpainted with the most accurate statement on the thread.

Blackhawk sucks ***.

Twin Creeks is a great layout. If you can get out there, do it. It is a very good track.

has anyone ever had a good time at blackhawk? I'll never try it because I keep seeing comments that make it sound like it's not worth the drive from S. Austin.

Give Circle C til this time next year and it will be in wonderful shape. Trust me on this, the new ownership group is getting it right.

I've never understood how anyone can actually like Crystal Falls. I don't believe the person that designed that course had any idea about golf, he was so amazed by the elevation changes that it kept him from making a fair setup.

The course is never in that good a shape but Highland Lakes is pretty good, the clubs at Lakeway are never a dissapointment.

blackhawk built a reputation and then flushed that reputation down the toilet. it's still stuck somewhere between *** and major ***.

i just blew 200 at star ranch and it was awesome. gotta use coupons next time though. sunday was the best mid-june day for golf i've seen in my 15 years in austin.

I got the pass from a friend who works for a promotions company..he gave mine to me but the regular cost is only $30. If you are interested pm me or natethehorn.

I played circle c the other day and really liked it...it was fairly easy and the fairways were really nice along with all the greens except for maybe 1 or 2.

Legacy Hills out at Sun City is a great course, especially for the price. Additionally, it is relatively uncrowded after noon, as the seniors tend not to play after that time...White Wing is much tighter and shorter than Legacy Hills, but still nice...

I haven't played Blackhawk in years. I'm sorry to hear that it's taken such a nosedive.

I'll put in the second on Star Ranch. Played last Wednesday and it was in great shape.

thing that pisses me off most about Blackhawk is that they fill you full of ******** in order to get you out there. i had one of their passes 2 years ago and called them once to see if their new Par 5 (#2 i think) was done. they had also blamed their dead fairways/greens on a busted water main. said that was fixed too. well, i get out there and the place was even worse than before. that was the last time i played it. this was before i knew about Star Ranch.

I played Circle C this weekend. It was in better shape than the last time I played it, but still not worth the money. The greens were covered with green grass. They seem to have put their money in more marshalls as it seemed like there was a marshall on every other hole.

Don't fool yourself by reading a break into the greens.
