Roaches disgust me to no end and I need to find a way to rid my house of them. I realize it may be futile, but I just don't want to see them. What is the best way to do this? We have a lot of attic space, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if there were plenty up there. Any ideas would be appreciated. The ultrasonic devices seem to help quite a bit, but more can definitely be done. Thanks a lot!

Boric acid.
They get it on them, they clean themselves, and it dissolves their guts. Not toxic to humans, and it's cheap.

Ill second the boric acid. Put it down in key areas. under sinks behind toilet base boards in your garage etc.

I bomb my place every 3 or so months and put the little trap things out. I also spray around the house and any areas I think the may be trafficking thru. I never find live roaches anymore, only deadone. It makes me happy....more importantly it makes my fiance happy.

I've never tried to the boric acid stuff for roaches. You can find it in the pharmacy, but I never thought of using it for roaches. What do you do with it? Sprinkle it around the base boards?

Get the boric acid at Home Depot or Lowe's. Just go to the bug killing section. Works great and it works pretty damn fast.

A slightly more expensive option, but Delta Dust is the professional way to go with cockroaches. It lasts for close to 8 months and is completely waterproof. A 1lb bottle is $18. Dust a little in your attic, weep holes and areas in the house that humans can't reach (under cabinets, stove, under sink) and you'll be good to go. 1 bottle has lasted me 2-3 years.

Buy it from here....

I'll pile on the Boric Acid pile. Great stuff for getting rid of critters like that and cheap. Even worked on an old house that was literally pouring roaches out of every light socket and under every cabinet. Combined this with occassional bombings to finally get the house into shape for renting. Before that stuff, I was really afraid since extermination didn't work all that great.

In my second house I puts shitloads of it down before I set the cabinets. Kitchen, bath, bookshelves, etc. We never saw a roach and we live in a flood basin with tons of ivy. They seem to love ivy.

Didn't do it in this house, but I put it down in the typical places you can get to along with an ultrasonic deal and it's working really well. We had a problem for a while because the plumbers failed to completely install a cleanout so we had an open sewer vent line in a cabinet and my wife put a bundt pan away with about half a cake in it. Once I solved those two, we have been good.

They haven't bothered me since the Southwest Conference was disolved. I would just ignore them, unless you live in Fort Worth.
