Best Coach Mack has not Beaten

So, I was driving home early this morning, getting pumped about the start to another fantastic season for the horns.

I got to thinking, who is the best active coach that Mack has not beaten.

the not eligible list is pretty strong

1. pete carroll
2. bob stoops
3. jim tressel
4. les miles
5. nick saban

so who is the answer, off the top of my head

joe pa, and bowden come to mind, but not such of the veracity of those, too lazy and tired to look it up. maybe marc richt? jim grobe? urban meyer?

this is in no way a mack-bashing, I was really just pumped about all the great/legendary/MNC winning coaches he has beaten, and how today another one is off the list - drunkenberger

Urban Meyer (Florida), Les Miles (LSU), Mark Richt (Georgia) and Rich Rodriguez (WVU/UM) are four names that come to mind. I include Les Miles because Texas-v-OSU/Les isn't comparable to Texas-v-LSU/Les (any more than beating Jimmy Johnson while he was coach at OSU would have been equal to beating Jimmy Johnson at U/Miami). And while Mack has bested Bob Stoops a few times, Mack has been on the wrong end of the scoreboard 2/3 of the time. Trumpeting the fact that Mack has beaten Bob Stoops is like the Aggies trumpeting the fact that Franchione beat Mack the last 2 times.

P.S. I do think Mack/Texas would beat Rodriguez at either WVU or UM.

It should be those that he has played and not beaten. That answer would be Bobby Bowden.

I don't know about Mack versus other coaches, but here is the list of teams Texas has played at least once but never beaten:

Air Force
BYU played x 2
Chicago
Colorado College
Harvard
Kirksville
Minnesota
North Carolina State
Northwestern
Randolph Field played x 2
South Carolina
Syracuse played x 3
Virginia Tech
West Virginia

We need to schedule Air Force, BYU, Harvard, Minnesota, NC State, Northwestern, South Carolina, Syracuse, Virginia Tech and West Virginia, all within the next 10 years.

Not much we can do about Randolph Field, Chicago and Kirksville (now Truman State University in Missouri).
