I used to love pluckers before they changed their batter. Then Katz's (believe it or not) was my favorite but they changed up their batter too.
So I ask thee HF's...whose got the best strips / tenders / fingers in town ?

btw: I before the flat, golden fried kind to the crunchy, more rounded ones.

Chicken Express in the greater Austin Area.. you just have to go to Lakeway or San Marcos....

agreed with the op. pluckers used to win hands down, but they went and screwed up their recipe about 4-5 years ago.....awful **** now.

A few years ago, I'd say Scholz's, no question. But they are not quite as good now, but they are still pretty good.

when i trained there thats one of the very few things we could have that was comped. usually get the etouffe there but for old times sake ill get the chicken strips from time to time.

I am an expert on these as it is all my 4 year old will order/eat.

Best I have had in a sit down type place is at Houston's and Cheesecake factory. Both are not frozen and hand breaded. Very good.

Another vote for Boathouse grill.

All though I have never had chicken strips in some of the restaurants listed here, so I am by means an authority, but the Boathouse is a hidden treasure out here for that at catfish sandwiches.

I have to agree about pappadeaux, they are yummy. FYI I don't order them as a meal, I just eat them off my girlfriends plate or as an appetizer. They are really good though. Also, for cheaper varieties, church's have always been pretty good to me and I used to love me some walmart chicken strips in high school.
