Best C W club?

What's the best C&W club in Austin or surrounding area? Is Roper's in Round Rock still open? We went there a couple of years ago and had a good time. Looking for a 30 something crowd over a young student crowd. Any help is appreciated.

Broken Spoke is a true honky-tonk dancehall...but for a bigger club, try Dalals on N Lamar

Broken Spoke is by far the best C&W club in Austin.

Ropers, Dallas, South 40, and all the other disco type places can not even come close in comparison. At least Roper's has started having live acts on Thursdays.

Granted, I'll give you that the Spoke generally has an older crowd, but on nights when the Derailers, Dale Watson, and Alvin Crow are playing you get a pretty good under 30 turnout. But by and large the Spoke crowd is 30 +.

The Broken Spoke is overcrowded, has expensive beer, and has a small dance floor on which floorcraft is difficult because many are dancing so slow.

That being said, I used to go once every month or so. That was years ago. If you want to dance, I like Ropers or Dallas. If you like live music, Broken Spoke is good.
