Best Breakfast Tacos in Austin

There's not a thread specifically about breakfast tacos in the whole city, there's one about the best taco, and one about breakfast tacos downtown, but that doesn't cut it. So, I thought I'd start one.

I'm going to mention Juan in a Million and Taco Xpress, just to get them out of the way, as they are greatness, but my vote goes to....

Ken's Taco House. It's on Dessau, just north of where it turns into Cameron Road. They are allsome, and huge. The only downside is lack of parking, but it seems that everyone gets them to go so the parking lot constatnyl has one or two empty spaces. Give them a try.

Chorizo and egg breakfast burrito at Antonios.

Only order one.

I really like the Rosie's Tamale House on 71 (the shack, not the restaurant). I've gotten hooked on their Carne Guisada - not really a breakfast item per se, but it's darn good.

I almost regret posting this here b/c i am afraid people will go there, but it deserves a mention.

Nueva Onda off Congress at Oltorf. Try the miga tacos

Maudie's Hacienda, Brodie at Slaughter. Two large ones for three bucks fills you up. I like egss and bacon with salsa from the table.

P/C - can you recommend a place for breakfast tacos in that area? I'm not a south-austinite, but my GF is, so I'm down that way more often than i used to be.

Aborrotes Mexicanos, 901 Tillery, across from the church. In the heart of the east side. I worked on teh east side for 5 years. I've eaten all over the place & hands down this is the best.

Juan in a Million is close as is Seis Meses.

BTW, whoever complimented Texican Cafe's salsa, I couldn't agree more. I think they put crack in the salsa because it is so damn addictive

Burnet Road Burrito and 2 salsas from Taco Shack is my favorite. I've been to Juan in a Million's and Taco Xpress and most of the others mentioned in this thread, but I still love me some Taco Shack.

Are any of these places within walking distance of DKR, because I'd like to find a place to go before early games?

1. Austin Country Club - Sausage/Egg
2. Pete's Taco at Maudie's
3. Taco Shack - Shack Taco or Sausage/Egg/Cheese
Honorable Mention: El Arroyo Chorizo & Egg

Where is Star Seeds?

As posted on Cactus 10 minutes ago:

The search begins and ends with Las Manitas Avenue Cafe on Congress. You can argue, but resistance if futile. These things own your face.

Star Seeds is right across from St. David's hospital on I-35 and 32nd St., next to the little hotel.

This might sound funny, but the breakfast tacos in the cafeteria at the old county courthouse are allsome!!!!!

Jim Bob's Barbecue out in Bee Cave makes a pretty good one if you are ever in that area. The salsa will set you on fire though.

I ate at Juanita's tacos for the first time last week. Damn good. It's in an old railroad car off 5th before you get to Lamar.

I like the fact that when you order a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast taco they mix it all in instead of throwing a strip of bacon next to scrambled eggs.
