Best BBQ Pork Ribs

I've had a lot of BBQ in this state but imo, the best restaurant ribs I have had is the Country Tavern in Kilgore, Tx. They also have a new location in Shreveport, LA.

Really great ribs, moist and fall off the bone tender, awesome rub, adding sauce would be a disgrace but they do have a good one.

I have posted on this topic before, and I concur. They are damned near impossible to beat.

Plus, they sell the frozen schooner of beer, a plus in any establishment. Hell, I think most churches should offer such a beverage.

If this is the same place that has their Shreveport location near East 70th, then (this location, anyhow) is fail.

Parboiled & greasy.

Plus, as I have reported before, there should be some sort of statute of limitations for a restaurant to still use the same review in their publications: They have a review from John Kelso of the Austin American Statesman from something like 15 years ago where he said the ribs were the best he'd hever had.

damn i hear so much good stuff about country tavern - i want to go there bad, but i cant think of any reason i would be up that way and it seems a bit far for a lunch road trip

i have been to just about every place you can name in central texas and for me, city market in luling is far and away the best pork ribs. they are insane

artz in austin would be a close second with their baby backs, followed by their country style

ruby's on guadalupe can be a little hit and miss with their pork ribs, but when they are on, they are excellent

fogo de chao

seriously......not a huge fan of the place but i would have been perfectly content with a pork rib buffet. simply delicious,
