Best BBQ in Austin before a BB game today

studboy:

I agree that Stubbs is a great place to go before a game, but he BBQ is not the best. But that building is totally amazing.

I agree.....the convenience for Stubb's is the selling point...unless you love serrano spinach which is very good.

Go to Mueller's-it is great, it is the closest to Disch Falk, and part-owned by a UT fan and HornFans moderator.
Try it!

Re-evaluating Meuller's by the Disch -- it's good, but not great. In town, Sam's is better.

However, Meuller's surprised me with one thing -- their smoked turkey is the BEST I have ever had. I don't usually get turkey, but tried it at their all you can eat deal last Saturday. It is unbelievable tender and moist.

I also might buy a couple of sausage links to take into the game and have as sausage wraps -- the sausage is pretty good (Kreuz's and Meuller's in Lockhart are better, as is Sam's).

I am hopping on the Mueller's bandwagon. I sometimes crave it. It is super close to the casa, always fresh and downright good. I have posted before of my support of this place and will undoubtedly do it again. For the record, I am not the moderator that has financial interest in this business, however. In fact, which one does? Inquiring minds want to know...pm me if you like but satisfy my curiousity please.

Aaahhhh, Sam's!
Stubbs
Iron Works

Can't go wrong with that list. They're in close, with great meat.

Stubbs, just cause its so close. If you get here EARLY go to the Salt Lick! Best BBQ in the near area. Best BBQ around is either Meyers in Elgin or Luling city market...im drooling just thinking about it

Is Sam's the one that used to be in Killeen? It was awesome, however closed recently.
