Beer Can Chickens?

Had the honor of partaking in a large feast of beer can chicken last weekend. Does anyone on here have some good recipes/instructions for this dish?

I made a couple of these last week, real easy and tastes great.

I got 2 whole chickens from CostCo for $7.50 and rubbed them with a standard BBQ rub. Got a can of Budwesier and drank half and put some of the rub in the can with the rest of the beer. Poke extra holes in the top of the can and shove it up the chicken.

Set that dude up on the grill standing up, using the legs and the beer can as a kind if tripod. Kept it in smoke for 2 or 3 hours.

Be careful with the can of scalding hot beer when you take it off the grill. The bird was moist and delicious and a lot of fun to make.

I have a beer can chicken holder. But honestly I now prefer to buy a whole chicken "halved" from HEB and grill it directly. About 2/3 of the way through, I baste it with bbq sauce.

GakFoo pointed me in this direction and I prefer this over beer can chicken. It is much quicker too and is also easier to serve b/c you don't have to cut up a chicken.
