becoming a Real Estate Agent

If coaching doesn't work out, I was just wondering about the real estate world. Are online courses worthwhile? Are they all the same? Where would you recommend taking classes from? What does one have to do to fulfill the sponsorship requirement? What are the pro's / con's of going out on your own vs working for some one else? Can this be a part-time type job?

only thing i know about is the online question you mentioned. my friend keeps telling me to get my license. he told me to go to champions real estate school (just google) or kaplan. i still haven't done it, so i can't speak any farther than that.
