Beat Rice ...

Not too often you get to see a Top 5 match-up in the mid-week. Let's get back on track with the Owls and take "scoreboard" back. They've been on a bit of a streak.

I respect the hell out of their program, but I still see random visions of Wade Townsend being a f'n douche, Huston walking off the Rosenblatt field as a loser in '03, and Rice beating us last year in the Houston Regional.

Can't wait to see two of the best tonight at The Disch.

For tonight's game I have visions of Wayne Graham dropping like a stone to get out of the way of Quintanilla's throw from third to get Sinisi out at home!!!

Yeah, my vision was the 11-game win streak and Sinisi lying on his back in stunned disbelief. We need to regain our dominance over these clowns, either today or in the postseason when both teams are using starters.

I still have visions of Wayne Graham running around like a jackass after beating us in '03...like they had just won the CWS or somethin.

And also that d-bag Kolkhorst sticking his elbow out over the plate trying to get hit by every pitch.

I hate em.

Just think of all the visions that Rice has that haunt them... Kyle Russell walk off is the first to come to mind.

Ah yes, and Ryan Hubele making the tag at the plate.

Maybe the best play I've ever seen in college baseball.

Beat the hell outta Rice.

for some reason I felt compelled to find out "what ever happened to wade townsend?" ..............

this is from wikipedia. I don't care enough to research it's accuracy:
Professional career
Townsend's professional debut came at short-season Class A Hudson Valley, but his one year lay-off and several nagging injuries limited his velocity and his control. He finished the season 0-4 with a 5.49 ERA in 12 appearances, including 10 starts. He pitched in the Arizona Fall League in the 2005 offseason. In fall of 2005 Townsend underwent Tommy John surgery on his elbow. He rehabilitated with Tampa Bay for most of 2006 and will most likely join the instructional league in the fall.

In fall 2008 Townsend was again sent to the Arizona Fall League, where he lasted only 10.2 innings and gave up 12 runs before he was sidelined with shoulder problems. Townsend underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum and will likely be in rehab for most of the 2009 season.

That's ok. Baylor owned us all year in 2005 but we beat them when it counted. Hopefully that will be the same story in 2009 against Rice.
