Do yourself a favor and get a few dozen bearclaws from Naeglin's bakery in New Braunfels. It's the oldest bakery in Texas for a reason.

Are "Bear Claws" of German origin?

As a kid, I'd always get one at Stein's Bakery in Preston/Forest when my dad would go to buy egg bread for French Toast.

Now someone mentions that their best in New Braunfels. I'm detecting a German theme. (Stein's also had the Jewish twist, but still German.)

They were always my favorite.
