BCS Tickets

A guy who is selling tickets to the NC game claims to have tickets in hand.
Does anyone know if this could be true? Or should I avoid him like the plague?

If you look at the ticket sites (Stubhub and Ticketcity), there are no tickets with exact rows or anything. Or, they all say "arrives Dec. xx".

pure lies. All the alumni I know haven't got theirs, I, as a student, haven't got mine, and the hangers-on I know are checking every day to see when tickets are available at sites like stubhub.

Easy to spot scam. No tickets are out yet... I mean, who would they print on the ticket? The teams haven't been set yet.

I say you do 5 minutes of diligence and report said seller to the proper authority, including the Rose Bowl in whatever capacity they can assist. Do your small part to weed out the crooks, albeit a drop of water in the ocean.

FWIW, my Rose Bowl Tickets from 2005 do not have the team names on them... just saying.

Still, I think the OP found a scam.

I actually found the posting on CL. I have never used CL before so I have some trepidation about the whole thing.
I reread the posting and the guy actually doesn't state that tickets are in hand, but that he "has seven tickets". I apologize for that - my mistake.

I don't want to be unfair to the guy, he may well be legit. He gives both section and row number for the tickets.
He also leaves a phone number; 512 area code, as a matter of fact. He makes it clear that e-mails will be ignored.
I'm gonna stay away but if you search out "BCS" on CL, Austin, you will see his ad.

Let us know.

I'm looking at my tickets from 2005 and all it says is "Rose Bowl Game" with the game time, Section/Row/Seat number, and ticket price...

I have a friend who lives in Pasadena who knows someone on the Rose Bowl Committee... they won' t be getting their tickets until next week. The Pasadena residents' ticket sale for both the Rose Bowl and BCS Championship game is on Saturday morning, so those people will probably be the one of the 1st ones to get tickets...

The public sale isn't until December 15...
