BCS Poll - Ducks Jump OU

Given their performance I can see why! Tech's freefall is going to hurt them mightily in the end. I say is, it could and should.

I would personally rather see an LSU v. Oregon rematch over a LSU v. Bama rematch. That may just be me.

I like the way that Oregon swarms around, I love their athleticism on offense and would like to see both teams later in the season when the cobwebs are knocked off. That is, besides the ones that set in place after the god awful long rest of bowl season till the final game.

Do you think Oregon has improved significantly since the LSU game? I agree with you about Oregon's athleticism last night, but they appeared to be overmatched when they played LSU early in the season.

What happens if they beat OSU though?

we're headed for bcs craziness.

god help us all if arkansas beats lsu to end the season. that means lsu, bama, arkansas, oregon, oklahoma, stanford...everyone will have one loss.

tsquar, I do. I think their offense needs repetition and practice to get the timing down. That is something you don't get too well in just practicing against yourselves. I think it would be a more evenly matched game but it's just prsumption as any perspective or opinion would be.

Some teams are not recognizable by the middle to end of a season. Sadly, sometimes they stay the same. That's when coaches are often sent a packin'.

In my BCS world I would want to see LSU and Okie Lite for all the marbles. Then have Bama play Oregon.

This is not the official 11/13 poll, as per the site...

Below are Jerry Palm's projected BCS Standings. With Stanford's loss to Oregon and Boise State's to TCU on Saturday, Palm sees a little shake up in the Top 5 of the standings.

The official BCS Standings come out Sunday night at 8:15 p.m. ET

Game I'd like to see after watching last night's game from Stanford...
Oregon vs. Okla-State

how about if Auburn beats Alabama, Arkansas beats LSU and then turns around and loses the SEC CGame to ...... Georgia?

That would allow the winner of OSU-OU to play Oregon, assuming they win out.

imo, the ducks would be a higher ranked BCS team than LSU.

here's another tidbit. Florida State keeps winning, and is now ranked!?

But strangely enough OU is much worse off than they were when they played us. -injury factor, Broyles and RB.

Kind of a broken record, OU normally peaks when they play us, and goes downhill a little after that.

waazel -- I was at the game and your summary is correct. Oregon actually outgained LSU by about 100 yards -- turnovers were the difference in the game (LSU scored 40 points despite a pedestrian offense that only generate about 270 yards).

LaMichael James also sprained his ankle in the 1st half and was gimpy and ineffective in the second ahlf, which is why he was replaced by that true frosh back that kept fumbling the ball. Also, Bama lost at home, while Oregon lost in what was effectively a home game for LSU (stands were 80% full of LSU people who who were able to make a relatively short drive to the game).

All I know is this, if OSU loses, there is no clear #1 vs. #2 matchup out there. In that case, I'd rather see a rematch of an exciting game featuring two very different teams from different conferences than a rematch of a boring divisional conference game where the teams are identical and the home team lost the first time around.

I also think OSU is likely to lose by two TDs to LSU since they can't stop anyone, but who knows.

Don't ever underestimate the sheer luck OU gets every year when needing certain things to happen. They'll beat OSU and then sneak in to the MNC game. Granted, they'll probably get destroyed; however, I just don't think I could handle it if OU somehow snuck in and won a championship after getting absolutely humiliated by Tech.
