Who will be on the mound to start for both teams tomorrow?

What does BC have in their pen after the starter for tomorrow?

What does their offense look like?

Both teams will start their ace pitchers tommorow

That is Pat Dean for BC and Chance Ruffin for Texas.

Their pitching staff overall is not very good but they have about...three good relievers so Texas should be facing the best BC has to offer tommorow. I anticipate another low scoring affair.

Looking over the Eagles' stats, my guess is we'll see their "ace," Pat Dean, on the mound tomorrow.

B.C. rolled the dice and started its No.2 pitcher (in terms of when they normally throw him, as far as I can tell) and came up seven thanks to a six-run ninth inning versus Texas State.

Dean is 6-4 on the year with a respectable 3.36 ERA. He's got 85 strikeouts compared to only 15 walks in 88.1 innings pitched, so it looks like he's got the stuff to shut our boys down if he's hitting his spots.

Kevin Moran appears to be their top reliever. He sports a 5-2 record and a 2.82 ERA with 37 Ks and 26 BBs through 51 innings. Moran pitched a third of an inning versus Texas State, allowing a hit and a walk with one strikeout.

The Eagles also have an excellent closer in Mike Belfiore, who has nine saves (including today's effort versus the Bobcats), a 5-1 record and a sparkling 2.56 ERA. As you might expect from a closer, he's a power pitcher--48 strikeouts and only 12 walks in 41 innings of work. Belfiore pitched the ninth against Texas State today, yielding two hits, two walks and two earned runs, both of which came on a homerun by Bobcat stud Paul Goldschmidt.

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw all three tomorrow--Dean to start, Moran in relief and Belfiore to close. This is all educated guesswork, of course.

Offensively, B.C. batted .312 on the season and has six batters with at least 107 at-bats who hit .312 or better. Two Eagles have averages above .350--Robbie Anston (.355) and Tony Sanchez (.352).

The Eagles also have three sluggers with double-digit home runs--Sanchez (14), Mickey Wiswall (14) and Belfiore (11). Not surprisingly, those three also lead the team in RBIs.

It's all but a given that Chance Ruffin will start for Texas. We'll need him to be in top form to remain in the winner's bracket, especially with Brandon Belt being a question mark.

My personal scouting report is that those guys will tear up bad pitching. The Southwest Texas starter had their number most of the game, but the bullpen just served up batting practice. Eagle hitters have a keen eye for junk, they waited on their pitches, and crushed them. Since we have good deep pitching, I think we'll handle 'em.

Offensively, we'll probably have to do better than the 3 runs we got today. I highly recommend hitting it to their shortstop.
