Saturday, Jan 14 is the last day of operation for John Mueller's BBQ on Manor RD. Sad but true. Just could not continue the death spiral.

Goddamit. That sucks. For us, and for him and his family.

Here's hoping he ends up on his feet somewhere -- and that it's somewhere where we can have a hunk of his brisket again.

just went by for the last time. as good as ever. couldn't even put a fork into the brisket it was so tender. very sad.

good luck to JM.

This sucks. I know he has things he can do and all but that deprives those of us in Austin who want to get really good BBQ in town. Yeah, there are decent places but I like good BBQ.

Dang. I'm usually able to blame something on them.

Very sad he didn't make it; I enjoyed every meal I had there.

I am with MD on this, **** Time Warner. Nobody will convince me this is not their fault. And this still sucks. Eating there today if it is open. Taking some home.

Didn't see this until after lunch Fri and I couldn't make it today (prepaid tee time).

Only ate there once, but their brisket is #1 on my alltime list.

I am going to investigate as to why this happened if it is anything other than business not being up to par. Anything like Time Warner or shady **** adn I will be all over it for y'all and we can make the bad people pay! You don't mess with our Cue places.

Here's to him getting back and running soon.

If we can't blame it on TW, can we blame it on the liberals that run the City of Austin? Or just liberals in general?

Okay, I haven't been there in about 4-5 months, so I wasn't aware that John was in danger of going out of business. Can someone give me a quick recap? What in the world do liberals and/or Time Warner have to do with John Mueller's BBQ?

Something is fishy and it is not BBQ. Maybe he will open up in a new location?

I've lived in Austin all my life, and that was the best que this city has ever produced.Even my wife, the finicky eater, loved it. I'm just glad I was able to eat there as many times as I did.
