Bayou Aggy

I got this text from a tigger friend 10 seconds after Rowes blast: "Its on Monday night, the real no.1 LSU vs the faux no.1 Texas...geaux tigers."

Every toothless Bubba from swampland comes out when LSWho is winning. Most of them don't have a clue what's going on. They are the ultimate in bandwagon fans. They never went to LSU, much less any other college. But they put their purple and gold T-shirts on and proudly yell "Geaux Tigers" and talk about how the Tigers are going to destroy Texas. I bet if you ask any one of them, they could not name one player on the team. Next week they will go back to changing oil and start talking about how the LSU football team is going to stomp the crap out of every team in the nation next season.

Are we going to start making fun of teams having "T-Shirt fans"? If so, I think that is bad bull and gets no whoop. Waaay too much aggy in that thought process. Wow, aggy and thought process in the same sentence is probably pretty fail.

The most humorous thing about their fans is how they are supremely confident in not just beating us...but spanking us....and get offended at the thought of any Texas fan thinking we can win this series.

After looking in on Texags a few years -- then seeing similar tones and mindset in other collegiate boards -- this is just a by-product of the Internet.

Some people should not be allowed on a computer.

Purple and gold? I thought it was purple and yeller. Neaux? Whatever. Gold. Yeller. Looks like high school colors neaux matter what.

They have been the best looking team by far and they look like men among boys. But I have been saying all year that all our opponents look like better teams, with better averages and better bodies. But they all lose to us so I really do not have an explanation. I think LSU should be the heavy favorite, but it also makes a fall a lot longer fall for them if they lose. I like being the underdog with no chance.

I have to hand it to the LSU fans they have been talking **** to us ever since we got the #1 seed and have been running their mouths the second Texas beat Army only 3-1 in the first regional game. I hope we never have to play them again anytime soon, never have I run into such a ridiculous fanbase in out of conference play before. Very tiresome.

I wouldn't say LSU should be the heavy favorite. They will be in the media of course because ESPN loves offense and thinks defense is a waste of time in any sport. But should they be? No.

They hit well, but scarcely better than ASU if you look at averages coming into the CWS. Their smoking gun is the long ball.

Texas has a much deeper pitching staff, and after Louis Coleman tonight, it's not entirely certain what LSU will do. Their #2 starter, Anthony Ranaudo, pitched on Friday night. While I still think he'll pitch game 2 on 3 days rest, I'm not convinced he'll have his best stuff. And there is a HUGE drop-off to their #3 guy, who is 6-7 with a 5+ ERA. They also don't have a terribly reliable bullpen outside of their closer, which causes them to bring their starters out of the pen a lot. Texas has done this a few times with Chance Ruffin and Taylor Jungmann. LSU does it ALL the time. if they don't get a good, lengthy performance from Coleman tonight, they may be toast. That's why it's crucial for Texas to get to him early and get a win.

So Texas certainly has some advantages in this series. The 2 keys for us are A) limit their home runs, and B) get to their bullpen ASAP. If we do that, I think we've got a great shot.

Knowing Texas this season we will both give up lots of home runs and not chase Coleman and somehow win anyway.

If Texas wins, look for dramatic wins in game one and three. I would love to see a close game but i can see them getting up and us coming back. Would i like us to win with ease?? Absolutely, however every game this post season has had me on the verge of throwing things at the TV. I expect nothing less than close games and wouldn't be surprised if we do win, we have no less than one win in in the bottom of the 9th.

Here's to a hell of a series!!

I know I'm wearing burnt orange glasses, but I'm tired of hearing how the pitching is even and LSU's offense is just too much for us to handle.

I know those guys can rake. They hit a lot of home runs. It's what they do. But aside from that, their hitting stats will not knock you off your chair. We take away the long ball, and they are an average offense. So it's up to our pitchers not to help them out by hanging any fat pitches up there or throwing any 81-mph fastballs on a 3-1 count. Thanks for that lesson, Mitchell Lambson.

I also think people are creating a mythical monster in their heads about Louis Coleman. The dude is a great pitcher, but I honestly don't believe he's got any better stuff than Chance Ruffin. They are remarkably similar pitchers, with Coleman having an edge in experience and the fact that he's pitched well in this tournament, while Ruffin will be coming off a less than stellar performance last week.

Beyond Coleman, I think Texas has a decided edge on the mound, provided everyone pitches to their abilities. LSU is praying this doesn't go to three games and force their hand.

Coleman is the Greatest College Pitcher Of All Time.

You know, that is, after the last Greatest College Pitcher Of All Time kept giving up runs to some horrible team or another last week and therefore certainly can't be considered the Greatest College Pitcher Of All Time anymore.

Anyway, have I mentioned how DOOMED Texas is?
