Baylor's Jones injured

Seems she hit her head late in the game and had vision problems in one eye. She was taken to get either a CAT or MRI of the head.

Hope she is okay. She had bad luck last season with injuries. She's been an excellent player for Baylor this season especially.

Melissa Jones injury update. She has swelling behind the optic nerve and currently cannot see out of the eye - but the prognosis is good.

Hate for her that she will miss senior night. But health is way more important than basketball. My thoughts are with Melissa.

that's not good. I don't see how a blow to the head would cause a swollen optic nerve. I can think of too many other causes. Hopefully, a brain MRI has eliminated any other causes. The swelling needs to go down quickly to reduce or eliminate the chances of vision loss. I would think her season is over as one would not want to take a chance on a repeat injury that could cause permanent vision loss. But that's for the doctors to determine as she recovers.

I am wishing the best for Melissa. She is an incredibly talented player and a real leader on her team. I hope her recovery is quick and complete.
