Oh, the horror.

I have nothing against Brittney Griner or her teammates.

They were a great college team and the Lady Bears had a nice run.

But, perhaps, Baylor's arrogant coach and self-entitled fans were due to take a fall.

The Lord definitely works in mysterious ways, although I don't really believe that God actually takes sides in basketball games.

Whatever.

Congrats to Louisville.

Very tough loss for the Bears.

thought the refs would swallow their whistles on that last drive by Louisville. That senior came up big for the Cardinals. Sims is just ice on the FT line.

Bet there is a lot of celebration in ND and UConn.

Louisville will never play like that again. Probably no team ever will. It was other worldly. Is Walz doing group hynosis on his team? My Big 12/ Texas loyalty kicked in and I was very sorry Baylor went down. Sims was her usual amazing self. I hate the swagger, taunting, and tough guy posturing that now pervades women's basketball, ironically, much more than in men's basketball. The defense (I should say assaulting) of Griner in the first part of the game was repulsive. That is ugly coaching. I have no respect for Walz -- coaching your players to try to win like that isn't worth it. It violates the principle of sportsmanship just too much --- beat the player to a pulp if the refs will allow it.. Slaughter alone should have had 5 fouls in the first 5 minutes if the refs were doing their job. I expect Tennessee to take them down and I won't be sorry. Of course, Tennessee perhaps originated macho and swagger in the women's game.

JD, take a closer look at BU,WVU and A&M, among others, that play that way. Like it or not, that's the way the game is trending.

Normally I am a conference loyalist, but that was a great game. The refs were bad on both sides of the court but Louisville's coach was brilliant. Take away Griner's feet and shoot as many three's as possible. Brilliant. Just brilliant. Mulkey was Mulkey - entertaining to say the least. She blamed the refs rather than the 16 made 3's from Louisville. Watch the tape, honey. That was a charge and the whistle blew before the missed shot.

Very hard to cheer for Mulkey and the Baylor fans, who have been so arrogant the last 3 seasons. Glad the Griner era is over, and that she is taking 4 other seniors with her. One national title is good enough for them.

Baylor got exactly what they deserved tonight, especially when Mulkey left her starters in late in the game last time out against FSU when they were up by 20 or 30 points.

As physical as Griner, Williams, Pope, Hayden, and Sims play, Mulkey shouldn't be whining about physicality. Especially when Griner is known for that horrific punch to the Texas Tech player. Plus, we've all seen how Griner gets away with so many no-calls the last couple of seasons.

Babhorn,

In ur reply above to my comments, are u referring to the swaggger I complain about or about the way the Louisville defense played Griner? I like to get your input and just wondered what you were referring to. Whichever --- they probably are the trends, but doesn't mean I like it!

Mooooo --- I've seen a lot of Baylor games and I've never seen their inside players doing to anyone what the Louisville players were doing to Griner (except for the punch as a freshman!). Do you really think Baylor fans are more arrogant than UConn fans or for that matter any other fans of top programs?

They are more arrogant and more ******** too. I sit behind the visitor bench and surrounds by every visiting fan to the FEC. There is no comparison to Baylor fans not Aggie, Tennesee or even uconn. Baylor fans are the worst ever. Of they aren't talking bad about our players they are constantly crying about every damn no call on us and every call against them. Many are just plin ugly just for the hell of it.

JD, I was talking about the way that Baylor likes to play D. And Griner gets a lot of no calls, including several in this game.

JoeDallas, I would say that all one needs to do is attend a game in Waco at the Ferrell Center to see the type of fans Baylor typically has...take an armed body guard with you though.

They all got exactly what they had coming.... fans, players, and coach! Paybacks are a *****.....
Couldn't happen to a more deserving program!

I'm not a conference loyalist, but it is not secret that I'm a mulkey fan. I think she waited waaaay too late to begin to really let the officials have it. I understand that Baylor had the advantage in total calls, but after watching the game today, lville really should've be called for a foul on their first 11 defensive possessions. I have no problem with the physicality, it was just a bit out of hand. If I were coaching in that game, I have no doubt that I would've taken a technical foul in the first 10 minutes. And Kim is usually very good about that, so that's where I think a bit of Baylor arrogance showed true in thinking that her team could overcome it. Had she been playing against uconn or nd, she would've been all over that

And I will say that although I would've honestly done the same thing, and so would Jeff walz, but I'm embarrassed for our conference with the way Kim handled the press conference afterwards. But when you have an emotionally driven coach, that's what you get.

But I would also like to point out that this game will really help and grow Wbb. When you get to a point to where 4-6 teams can actually win it, that makes people watch.

Call me petty, but I am so glad Baylor was taken down a peg last night. Their fans and coaches needed some humble pie.

As someone who has endured plenty of heartbreaking Texas losses over the years, there isn't much sympathy from other fan bases; that's just the way it goes.

Mulkey is a very good coach, but it's hard to argue that her 2011 and 2013 didn't underachieve in post-season play. But, she was completely out-coached by Blair and Walz in those upset losses.

Their game against OSU in the Big 12 tourney in KC last month sort of opened my eyes that they weren't as invinceable as folks thought. But, I only expected a BU loss if Griner was in foul trouble.

Parity is good .... seeing the same teams over and over in the Final Four gets a bit boring and stunts the sports growth and appeal.

Congrats Louisville!

Didn't see the game, but I did read RG3's comments about how "them girls" were throwing elbows at Griner's head all game, but couldn't reach it.

Well, I don't know about that, but I am happy them girls won.

The officiating was so bad it was not fun to watch at times. I have to say that's just ONE reason why I stay away from the Erwin Center, the others are obvious.
