Baylor loses 5 Star LB commit

This guy could be another Rolando McClain (on the field; not off) if he sticks at linebacker. He's going to be huge!

This guy seems to have his mind right and will commit when he's ready............so what number will he wear at Texas? :smokin:

I think Dion's pic is a bit dated, just sayin. Here is a more current one!

3-star Charlie strikes again. What's up with all these 4* and 5* recruits interested or committed to Charlie?

Unless I am missing the sarcasm or something in the above comments on #60, that number is not available. Retired in 2010 in Tommy Nobis' name.

I was dead against #60 being retired, by the way. Multiple greats had worn it, and it should always have been kept for the next great middle linebacker. I hate it that we killed the tradition of #60, and then made it impossible with the jersey retirement. The best tribute we could have given to Nobis and all other MLB greats was to bring it out for a couple of years every decade if possible and have everybody talk about the greats who wore the number when somebody like a Malik Jefferson wears it for a couple of years.

I think Tommy Nobis wouldn't mind at all if Texas wanted to use #60 again, retired or not.

I think if someone like Malik or Coach Strong reached out to him and asked if could wear it as a tribute, he would be all for it. I seriously doubt the University of Texas would say no, if Tommy said it was ok.

What if one game was designated each year to wear #60 or #20, or #10, etc.......

It could be like when Ricky Williams wore #37 to celebrate Doak Walker and he didn't even play at Texas.

Everybody knows #60 was special and who made it that way. Letting it still see some action on the field won't take anything away from that.

I think some of the greats at Texas or their family would like seeing those jerseys in action again. They could be invited to the game and it would be a celebration day of that particular legend.

These are the kind of things I would like at Longhorn games, like the celebration of the 1963 and 1969 teams with the throwback uniforms. It sure beats jetpack guy to me.

I guess I'm no Patterson, I didn't even consult Disney for these suggestions.

I think when #60 was retired recently, it was stated that it would still be brought out of retirement on Senior Day for exceptional linebackers. It's simply now official that it's not worn otherwise; previously it was unofficial.

I like the idea of doing that for our other retired jerseys. If we ever have another Earl, Ricky, Vince, or Colt, I have no problem with him wearing a retired jersey on Senior Day.
