Baylor and free throws

What a difference. We were 9 for 14 and Baylor was 36 for 45, a 27 point difference.

We were charged with 26 fouls while Baylor only had 12 fouls. Doesn't seem right.

Gross disparities in fouls called and free throws in favor of the home team are common, particularly in Big 12 conference play. The fact is, Texas played probably its best game of the year, particularly with assists and turnovers. If they can continue to play this well, they may surprise some folks by season's end. The enigma is Ridley who has been very disappointing the past few weeks.

Oddly enough, the Longhorns were good at the FT during regulation hitting 7 of 10, one of their better outings of the year. 2 of 4 in OT, but Javan's misses were not what did them in.

Every team is going to use that style (even Chaminade did) against us. Jack up a bunch of shots and force us to stay in a lazy zone, and then when it collapses our guys will make fouls. It's no surprise that we fouled them a lot more than they fouled us, but the refs didn't do us any favors either.

I agree with the home and away thing, but Barnes and some of the players seemed to indicate the disparity was due in part to getting out hustled in this game.
