Apparently in name only...

Heckling is part of the game and no doubt there are likely Horns fans who have said worse to opposing players over the years. But to me this is classless at any school:

With the Baylor students chanting, "DUI" at the junior forward in reference to his recent, two-game suspension, Wangmene calmly sank all four of his free throws to help ice the game and perhaps leave the Bears' NCAA postseason chances DOA
 
Normally I wouldn't mind something like that from an opposing student body, but...given Baylor's sordid past...you'd think they would avoid making fun of another team's transgressions.
 
Nothing new for Baylor. During the mid to late 80's, I went to a BU-TCU basketball game at HOT when Killingsworth was the TCU coach and he was trying to kick the smoking habit. Some BU students behind the TCU bench heckled him all night and, at various times, threw cigarettes at him. That being said, back then, most of the fans there were good fans but they still had their fair share of knuckleheads (as all fan bases do). Just looks bad when you try to promote a different image.
 
Eh, there's nothing wrong with some good heckling. When I was in HS around the same time Bobby Knight threw his chair across the foor, there was a HS coach that threw a clip board on the court when he got pissed at the ref.

So the next time we played them the student section brought clip boards, held them in the air and snapped the spring clip the entire game. It was pretty funny.

Just stay away from making fun of family and I'm ok with it.
 
I think Baylor should suspend all players who have sex outside of marriage - like BYU did. Mormon and Baptist teachings on sex are pretty much the same, so why not?

I remember how "ugly" the Baylor fans were to Kenny Taylor after he transferred from Baylor to Texas in the wake of the murder scandal (2003?)....so much so that the President of Baylor went to the Student Section to tell them to cool it.
 
Perhaps the other players were thinking, man I don't want anyone yelling that at me, so there's no way I am going to drink and drive. And I'm going to try really hard not to shoot any air balls either.
 
meh, If a kid wants to avoid chants of DUI, he probably shouldn't get a DUI. I've heard worse chants.
