Bathroom Vanity Install

I bought a marble top vanity to replace the pedestal vanity currently in the 1/2 bath downstairs. Any idea what I would cost to have this installed for me? To me, for someone who knows what they are doing it wouldn't be to difficult, but I have no idea.

It is not this one, but this type, vanity only, not the mirror.

Thanks for any input.

I would suggest hitting up the DIY Network and HGTV Network websites. They have lots of videos of shows and how to videos to do this sort of thing. It is not very hard and maybe after seeing a couple of these you would want to give it a go. Not just to save money but to have that sense of accomplishment.

I have watched a few and some jobs I have gone and done myself. Others I decide I still cannot do it and have a friend help out. But I love seeing something and knowing I did it. Vanity is something on the list to do but differently than what you are doing. I am getting rid of one and having an open piped install with a vessel type sink. I want as little counter or flat space as possible. Less to keep clean.

A couple of hundred bucks for the plumbing install plus another hundred or two for carpentry work? That would be my guess.

You can EASILY do this yourself. Take l00p's advice and DIY. I have ZERO skills but am simply frugal. There are so many websites that will give you step by step instructions that you'd need to have money to burn to pay someone to do this for you.

DIY this! i just watched a show on DIY called "Sweat Equity" and 2 women installed a double vanity without any problems. i'm about to do this in my master bath as well

If you're replacing a pedastal sink then it should be very easy. The plumbing's already all in place. You'll just need to install the supply lines and the drain. The most difficult part might be cutting holes for the pipes but it's not clear if those are pre-cut or just have an open panel on the back of your vanity cabinet.

Just get some Teflon tape and a couple new supply lines (always good to replacement when you have the chance).

I took out our old vanity and installed a pedestal sink this week. It was pretty easy, and I had never done it.

The pedestal sink sits a few inches higher, so I needed new supply lines, and a 6" drain extender.

You could at least get everything prepped and ready, and call in help if you get stuck...

Thanks for the input. I may give it a go. I shouldn't need to cut any holes as the back of the vanity is open.

I was going to start it last week but was having a hard time figuring out how loosen the piping to remove.

Thanks for the help....
