bathroom remodel

after getting tired of hearing my girlfriend/parents/friends remind me of my title of Mr. Procrastinator, i'm now hoping for some suggestions/referrals for a granite guy in Dallas to replace the ugly-as-hell cultured marble vanity top in a guest bathroom. what idiot thought that a seashell-shaped sink mold would look good 3 weeks after installing it, much less 20 years later?

Since you already have an ugly cultured marble top, you may want to consider just changing it out instead of doing a custom fabrication dealie.

Home Depot and Lowes have GREAT looking tops now, and it's going to be a hell of a lot cheaper than a custom fab deal.

We had that kind of bathroom countertop.

Bought two new drop-in sinks,
had son use circle saw to cut out both old molded bowls,
tiled right over the old countertop (he sanded it first),
dropped in both new sinks & plumbing,
worked very well:

Lots cheaper than slab granite.

If you don't like the wide grout spacing, you can narrow it way down.

If you don't want ceramic tile, use granite tile ($3.50 - $6.50 sq.ft. at Floor Decor) And butt it up close together.

Here's what the $6.50/sq.ft. Venetian Gold granite tile looks like on the buffet cabinet son built to separate the dining area from the living room:

Oh, that afghan (made by Mrs.Sco) is Burnt Orange. Guess the angle of the dangle just doesn't show the real color in the photo....much like the new stadium turf pics posted elsewhere.

But there are at least a half dozen shades of it in that room.

ScoPro, you need to call DeLoss Dodds to straighten out your problem with mismatched burnt orange hues. He is an expert at this.
