as with many phrases that are quoted, it's taken out of context. Her full statement simply shows a desire to erase that last bad impression which any ball player should have who has demonstrated that they are capable of playing better.

It would have made a stronger and lasting impression had she said "showing our fans" instead of the "nation". No one supports the team more than the Texas fans.

At any rate, can't wait for the game tomorrrow.
