I checked out most of the ranked teams in College Baseball, best eras i found on teams i checked were the Texas Aggies with era of 2.25 and they are batting .333 as a team. Horns had era of 2.41 and are batting a very unimpressive .263.

Miami batting .300 with era of 3.61
Clemson batting .313 with era of 3.28
Coastal Carolina batting .312 with era of 3.72
Georgia Tech batting .353 with era 2.78, very impressive team
Louisville batting .328 with era of 3.19
Florida batting .322 with era of 3.75
Oregon State batting .269 with era of 2,84
Florida State batting .317 with era of 3.30
Alabama batting .326 with era of 3.05
Virginia batting .355 with era of 3.57
Undefeated Arizona State batting .370 with era of 3.02
Disappointing Rice batting .286 with terrible era of 4.90, unheard of for Rice
LSU is batting .317 with kind of a high era of 4.61.

Now batting .270 with a 2.45 era. Really not that much difference from last year's club when you look at slugging instead of BA. You need to keep reminding yourself that the Disch is not a good hitter's park.

Something else to consider is the team's SOS at this point of the year ... MANY teams are simply beating up on crap competition. Who cares if you are hitting .370, if you haven't faced any notable pitchers/competition?

Texas (16)
Miami (68)
Clemson (65)
Coastal Carolina (100)
Georgia Tech (186)
Louisville (59)
Florida (83)
Oregon State (24)
Florida State (51)
Alabama (75)
Virginia (30)
Arizona State (47)
Rice (8)
LSU (90)

There is probably a HS in Houston that has played better competition than Georgia Tech ...

The ERA as shown on TexasSports is incorrect. The team ERA should be 2.61 and not 2.45. Kiefer Nuncio has pitched 1 inning (Rice) and given up 1 earned run, yet the season stats do not reflect the earned run and thus his ERA should be 9 and not 0. Likewise, Stayton Thomas has pitched 13 innings and given up 4 earned runs (1 against NM and 3 against Rice) yet the season stats only show 2 earned runs. His ERA should be 2.77 and not the 1.38 as listed. UT has given up 51 earned runs and not 48. The 3 earned runs not shown would result in a team ERA of 2.61.

Good catch 83. I had noticed that Stayton previously had 4 ER allowed, but I thought that it must have ben "corrected" to 2.

Not according to the Big 12 statsThe Link which are "official", assuming its game reporting works the same as it does in most other conferences.

On what are you basing your assertion? Official game stats (hits/errors, earned/unearned runs) do get changed frequently and the original game boxes aren't always updated on schools websites, if that's where you're coming from.
