Was thinking of heading down labor day weekend sat-monday and looked at staying at barton creek...still have availibilty... wanted to see if any of y'all had stayed there for just a relaxing weekend by the pool? is it worth it?

Stayed there many times. Really quiet. JimBob's (may have changed the name) is a tomb. Pool isn't much, but rarely anyone around it. Quiet country setting in the middle of town. I think it's worth the $$$. Again, I rarely eat there or use the bar.

The wife and I stayed there for 5 days in July and loved it. Very relaxing and still close to a lot of things. We didn't eat at the resort much since it's $$$. The Grove on 2242 got our business two out of 3 nights and we got breakfast twice from ZuZu's in the same shopping area. I would do it in a heartbeat. If you are ClubCorp, you can get an awesome rate. We got $130/night for the weekdays and then $190 on Friday. Enjoy!

How is the pool scene......they have a sweet package deal right now that includes a 50 minute massage per person per day.
