Barton Creek?

A friend and I were reminiscing about Chuy's and the Salt Lick and concluded that a trip to Austin was probably in order. We are thinking about staying at Barton Creek Resort. Any thoughts on Barton Creek? Is it worth the money? What courses do you like the best out there? Is the Fazio course a must play?

It's definitely pricey. I've not played Fazio yet, but hear great things from my buddies who have.

i've played Fazio. A great course. I've played better, but they were Fazio as well. but I'd definitely play again there given the chance. it's worth it.

ou sucks.

The new fazio isn't nearly as good as the original fazio.

what do y'all think of the Palmer lakeside course that is part of Barton Creek? or the Crenshaw?

just curious.

I haven't played the Palmer, but the Crenshaw is a bit easy IMO. Nothing too long, and not that many tough decisions.

Stay there. And enjoy the surroundings. The price is high, but if you're in for relaxation, you can't beat it. If you're into the party scene, you're better off downtown at Radisson, Hyatt or Driscoll.

I play rarely, so I pretty much suck. I'm wanting to play to see the country than anything else. should I stick to the Crenshaw or is it worth it to just say I've played the foothills?

I'm contemplating taking the missus there this summer as a mother's day gift.

I'm playing the Fazio Foothills course tomorrow. Free, of course. No way I'd pay that kind of money for golf!

I'll give a report here later.

Hey, I'm no salesman!! I work for an investment company.

Well, I played the course yesterday and let me tell you, the Fazio course is the best in town! The layout is beautiful, and the holes are really challenging. Some easy holes, but some really, really difficult holes (#18, for instance).

The course rewards you for good shots and punishes you appropriately for bad ones. Some greens are extremely large, so pin placement can really affect the entire hole. Greens were in spectacular shape, as was the rest of the course.

Play this course! You won't regret it.
